Hi all. Just returned from a 6 night stay at BWV. Had room 4086/4088 studio 1br lockoff. Had a nice view of the pool. The kids enjoyed the entertainers on the boardwalk.

The highlight of the week was getting stuck and being rescued from the top of Everest. The ride stopped at the top just before it goes backwards. After about 5 minuted there was a "rescue party" to save us. They opened the cars and we "hiked" down 13 flights of stairs. There was a stairwell like in a hotel so we couldn't see a lot, but when we got to the bottom it looked like a large grandstand with large tubes running thru it. We also won dream fastpasses while waiting in line at Buzz.

Crowds seemed light except at Hollywood. Toy Story is a huge hit and there was a big line there, even right at park opening. The other big wait was in toontown for the fairy's. About an hour or so each time we checked.

So the crowds were pretty manageable? We leave Wednesday and are hoping that we won't have any really long waits. I believe this week is Jersey week and the ending off the F&W so maybe next week things will clear out.

This morning I was trying to change some character dining reservations only to find everything we want is booked. But I guess that would be expected a few days before we leave.

Yikes! Just something new for me to worry about...it would take me quite awhile to walk down 13 flights of steps!

I'm guessing that you all enjoyed your stay? ..not just the kids with the entertainers...I hope you did!

Yes the adults had a great time too.

I secretly wish that space mountain would breakdown while I am on it so I could see it when they turn on the lights!

That happenned to me...... like 20 yrs ago:hippie: (when I was a kid) we were at the top just before the first dip. We were stopped for 10 minutes or so and they turned the lights on to make sure everyone was all right. It was really disappointing to see the whole ride in the light :sad2:, it was never "scary" again for me. Some thing are better left to the imagination.

On my last trip to Disneyland we got stuck on Space Mountain. It was so cool to see it with the lights on. Apparently a child wasn't wanting to sit down when they were loading the rockets, so the timing of the ride got all screwey. The CM's explained it all to us and were so cool about it.

They said they had to stop the ride in order to avoid the rockets crashing into eachother.

What happened was the ride was going just as planned, then it felt like it was starting to slow...then the ride completely stopped...lights still out...music still going...then the music stopped (oh yeah, there's a kick a$$ soundtrack to the Disneyland version)...then we heard CM's come over the loud speaker and say something like 'Code blah blah blah...activate zone blah blah blah...'then the best part...the lights came on...

we sat there in total awe just looking at it. we were stopped for about 3-4 minutes. A CM had come to our 'zone' and explained what happened and that she would be push starting our rocket to finish out the attraction. With the lights on. Let's just say this.

I'll think twice before raising my arms while riding that attraction.

I thought there was a rumor that they were going to refurb space mountain at DisneyWorld (they've already done DisneyLand I believe). So you could take the Transporation Authority (that goes through the future world attractions) and see them working on the upgrade (maybe).
