Hi
We just got back from a week 4 nights at BCV and 2 at VB - both were fantastic. This was my first time at BCV ans I wasn't expecting to like it very much - and it was great! WE had a studio overlooking the quiet pool with a big balcony - close to the elevator. The room was clean and in good shape. Now we've been to all the DVC resorts and I think I like the BCV studios the best (of the DW resorts). We own at VWL - and I like it there, but I think we'd rather own at BCV. S&B is so great. The kids loved the kiddie pool section and the small slide. Beaches and Cream is so fun - the 5 minute or less walk to Epcot...it's just a really great resort IMO. The crowds were really high -- we were there over NYE and 4th of July this past year - and it honestly didn't feel much different. The weather was perfect though. We did the Family Magic Tour and it was a huge hit with my 7 yo DS. The guide was terrific with kids and we got to go on Mickey's Philharmagic at the end and meet Mickey at the tent (with no wait!). My son said "I've never saved the day before!". ANother year, and he would have definitely been too old for it. Mickey's Philharmagic is wonderful. Didn't get to do Mission Space unfortunately. The other thing that has changed is the backlot tour at MGM because of building for the new stunt show - the whole "Residential street" has been demolished, so you go on a slightly different route to catastrophe canyon. Timekeeper was open - did it 3 times because my son loved it so much. The Halloween party was a blast too. We did it last year as well. Would love to go every year in October.
Did a quick trip to VB - stayed in a garden view room - but it had a pretty good view of the ocean. THey have cut back a lot of the vegetation in front so I think any OV room will have a view - since you can see the ocean just walking in front of the resort. I don't know if they do this every year - we were there for the first time in April and the trees were high. The CM's there are great. The campfire was fun. Kids loved the Unbirthday party. The weather was perfect. My son finally tried the slide and I couldn't get him off it.
Great trip. This is my 7th trip in the past 2.5 years - and every one has been great. It amazes me. That's why I love Disney - sure you'll spend some money - but there is really no other vacations I can almost "guarantee" having a great time.
