just back bcv 10/2-10/9

just returned from a great trip. stayed at our home resort bcv for the first time. we had rooms 133 which is a 2 bedroom and 2 studios 106 and 122. the studios were in great condition not much wear and tear noticed at all. the 2 bedroom did have alot of noticeable wear and tear. a large rip in the carpet in master bedroom with nails sticking up, dh just pounded them down. lots of marks on the walls and stains on sofa. 2 burners on stove did not work. this did not ruin our trip at all, we still enjoyed it very much, just letting you know what i observed. sab was great, loved beaches and cream. did mnsshp on 10/3 and loved it, well worth the extra money. all rides were walk on except peter pan had maybe 10min wait. did all the parks and bb and the crowds were not bad at all. i will say this will be the last time i go on a trip with 14 people, it is just too difficult to keep everyone happy and to try to stay together is almost impossible. all and all had a wonderful time and bcv is a beutiful resort.

Glad to hear you enjoyed BCV, it is our home too! The wear and tear needs to be addressed though. We went to MNSSHP on 10/08 and found it pretty crowded, but still had fun. I agree with you about a large group. I have very definite likes and dislikes, and I also like to plan everything out. When we have gone with family we have spent a lot more time saying "well, what do you want to do?" I much prefer gpoing with just DH and our 4 kids!! I just lead them all around and they do what I say!!!!

Sounds like some prior guests got a little hard on that room. I hope you reported the issues to them while you were there. I can understand missing a couple of burners working (dont' think they try them all out when they clean!), but you would think that housekeeping would notice that carpet!

Did you report the items that you noted, like the ripped carpet and stove? I wonder if it gets mentioned, maybe they will fix it for the next visitor(s).

I am glad the condition of the room did not ruin your stay. I think that if I had been given that room, I would have asked to switch. I don't mind gently worn rooms, but nails in the carpet to keep a rip together is too much.

hello again to everyone,
we did call down to maintance and let them know about the 2 burners but not until the day we left. we did not do any cooking during our stay so we did not really need them fixed right away, but did want to make sure they were fixed for the next guests. we also let them know about the carpet and they did say they would look at it. there was actually a piece of carpet missing where the carpet met the floor to the bathroom and the nail sticking up was where the carpet would be tacked down. it wasnt a nail trying to hold the carpet together. i hope i explained it correctly as im not sure what you would call it. the nails came up out of a piece of wood and they were tiny nails. only one was sticking up the rest had already been banged down. again please know that in no way did this ruin our trip at all, we still enjoyed the bcv very much. oh and we did also see the alligator on about our 2nd day there and everyday after that. it was pretty neat. my son actually dropped his pacifier down into the water and the alligater scooped it right into his mouth but i guess he did not like it because a second later it was out of his mouth.

the weather was absolutly wonderful. i do not think we saw one drop of rain. sunny everyday. the first couple of days were kinda hot and humid but from wednesday on it was in the mid 80s and not too humid. we enjoyed this time of the year so much we will be going same time next year.
