We had a great time on our trip although, as usual, it was too short! Time flies too quickly in WDW.

We were at the Beach Club from 2/3-6 in a waterview room. The room number was 3521 and overlooked the quiet pool with a pretty good view of the Boardwalk. It has a full balcony but no day bed, which we didn't need anyways. We had no issues with anything until our dd found some pills on the floor. They weren't anything that we had and we had no idea where she found them. Fortunately, she isn't putting everything into her mouth these days (she is 23 months old), and she brought them to us asking "whas dis?" Phew. I couldn't imagine what could have been had she eaten them. We spoke to the housekeeping manager and she is investigating...haven't heard anything and doubtful that we will. We do love the BC and will continue to stay there. Also, they had a room ready for us checking in at 11am which was wonderful after a night of flying from the west coast!

We then moved over to the Polynesian concierge lagoon view from 2/6-12. The view was amazing. We were so spoiled. Room 3503. Heaven. The 3rd floor rooms of Hawaii are now nonsmoking-yahoo! We adore the Polynesian, but we have decided that we aren't staying concierge anymore. The lounge was, shall we say, interesting? (We have stayed concierge in the past, and it was great.) I know that the atmosphere depends on the guests at the time, but yeesh. It was like a cattle call for food. People trampling each other to get to breakfast and snacks. Some guy knocked over my dd while he was rushing to get in line. People were piling plates and trays; adults were in the lounge in pajamas or robes (please put something under your robe should you feel comfortable going to the lounge in it!); it was a bit of a circus and very uncivilized. Yes, it was interesting. Consequently, we avoided the lounge for the most part, which was a bit of a bummer for me. I cannot stress enough, though, how wonderful the view was!

Glad you had a good time. We are staying at the Poly Concierge too. I cant believe there were actually some sort of pills in your room. How could the mousekeeper miss those ? Maybe they belonged to a mousekeeper and they fell out of someones pocket. I hope the manager does something about that:earseek:

Hmmm...nothing but robe, huh? How interesting. Good thing no one actually got knocked to the ground during the feeding frenzy. With just a robe that would NOT have been "rated G" would it?

thanks for the report... we are staying at BC and then over to Poly in JUne... we have been to poly but not BC...love the poly... how do you compare the two places....Did you find your room at the BC a good location and easy to get to SAB?? also... did you have breakfast at BC... I know there is Cape may... any other options for breakfast??? I have to have my coffee in the morning....thanks..amy

Thanks so much for sharing! We have had that pill thing happen to us a couple of times at different places (not WDW) and it is very frightening!! So glad she gave them to you first!

We are in the very early planning stages of our trip and are considering splitting our time the same way as you but doing the opposite...Poly first then YC...was it a problem switching resorts? How did they arrange that with your baggage?

Your Concierge comments were very interesting...we have been going back and forth over whether to do it or not... we have not been to WDW in years...are there lagoon views at Poly of equal beauty if you don't stay in Hawaii?

Thanks and welcome back!!:sunny:

WE are also back from AKL/Poly stay. I had to reach behind the bed at the poly for a toy and there was literally 2 inches of dust bunnies. i personally could care less but if you have allergies it could be a problem. I peeked where they were renovating at the Poly and they looked like they are gutting the buildings...I can see why.

Glad you had a good time. I hope to stay at these resorts very soon ::yes::

corvair-the 2 resorts are very different but both wonderful. We love the BC for its proximity to Epcot and MGM and SAB. Our room was at a great location for walking to Epcot-just down the elevator and out the door by the quiet pool. It was a few minutes walk to SAB-not too bad. Cape May is great for a big breakfast. You can also have a great big breakfast at the YC Galley, and for coffee, one of the lounges at the BC (I forget the name; it is right in the lobby) has coffee and continental breakfast stuff. If you get a refillable mug, you can use it for coffee here.

rob'n-I think the lagoon views in Tahiti would be as wondeful. It is the next building over. Switching resorts was very easy. Bell sevices took our luggage when we checked out about 10:30am, and it was at the Polynesian when we called to check for it about 3:30 pm. We have also taken a taxi with our luggage on a previous stay (we had an exercise ball inflated that we didn't want to deflate and pack up) which cost about $17 with tip.
