We took a very short trip down for the 5k run over marathon weekend and decided that would be a good time to try out a FW cabin. I am so glad we did, my Mama loved it!
We grew up in an Air Force Family and had a pop-up. When that one finally died after they retired, they got another one. Then Daddy started having health problems so they got a TT so it would be easier for him to set up. I actually had a 71 Winnebago which sounds good, but that was in 94! Long story short, we miss camping...haven't been since my Daddy passed away 10 years ago.
We no longer have any type of camper, so we chose the next best thing...the FW Cabins! It was so peaceful! Mama said, "y'all can just leave me right here while y'all go to the parks, I'm tired!" That was something we couldn't do at one of the hotels because she would never be able to go down to get something to eat and find her way back to the room. At the cabin she has everything she needs! She can even take her laptop and play her games.
We decided to take another trip in May to do the EE 5K and Mama told my brother that the only place she wanted to stay was the cabins! Of course, yesterday we got an AP pin code
, so now we have 3 trips planned to the cabins!
She is so excited! We are actually gonna spend Christmas
there this year and we can't wait to see all those fabulous decorations!
I am a smoker
and it is SO nice to be able to sit out on the deck and have a cigarette and a beverage without feeling like I am some kind of criminal. I actually get to relax too!
I have been lurking on the camping thread ever since we made plans for this past trip and it looks like we're gonna be hanging around some awesome people at the Fort!
I'm sure I'm gonna be asking lots of questions, so please be patient! Our next trip is in May, although my brother called awhile ago and asked if the PIN was good for the end of February and did I want to do the Princess run...so we'll see!
