Just back (and kicking myself)

Got back late yesterday and had a pretty good trip overall. Yes, the weather could have been better, but we got everything done we wanted to, including Dreams (magical), Tarzan (so glad to see it back) and some really good meals.

Was surprised at how busy the parks were (especially towards the end of the week), although with careful use of FP's, I don't think we waited more than 20 minutes for any ride. When we checked in to our hotel, we were even told that they were expecting it to be 100% full that night.

However on arriving home, what do I see on the doormat, but a letter from Paris, that probably was delivered on the Monday when we departed - it's our Shareholders Club card!

I sent off the form by fax about eight weeks ago and when I didn't hear anything back I just assumed it hadn't got through to them (we have had trouble with faxes at work recently) and I just gave it up as something that wasn't going to happen. If I had thought it was being processed successfully, I'd have chased up and seen if I could have got it sooner (or delivered to the hotel). And we're not likely to be able to go back in the next two years either...

Welcome back, pleased you enjoyed your trip. Shame about the shareholders card, you could have requested a temporary letter to allow the discounts if your card hadn't arrived.

What a shame you didn't get your card or know about getting a temp certificate. I think you'll just have to book another trip to get your money's worth

I couldn't agree more What a pity about the card though! I take it entering the different email address worked then ? I got my card on Monday too. I really hope you can go again sometime in the next two years....maybe there will be a really good flash sale Or you could aim for the opening of ratatouille. Now you have your card I always get really good offers for the AGM, that might be a possibility?

I had heard about people getting the temp certificate before, but as it had gone over eight weeks without hearing anything (and most people had reported getting theirs in six), I had just assumed that my form had never arrived or that there had been some other problems due to my previous membership expiring, so I just never chased it up. My mistake!

Yes Kaye, the secondary e-mail address did do the trick - of course it means that I'm getting all my DLP Shareholders e-mails on my wife's account now (not that she minds at all of course!)

We know we can't go to DLP next year because we've got a huge holiday already planned that has used up all our leave allowance, and 2014 is probably going to be WDW again, so it'll probably have to be 2015...

I'm going to have a think and do some highs and lows in a minute, but more importantly (and rather sadly) I'm downloading the photos I took from our trip to the Auchan hypermarket at Val d'Europe. Yes - it's going to be a photo guide to add to the "how to buy milk" thread!
