Just back from 4 days at the resort celebrating my birthday! Stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and has a magical trip! Thursday and Friday the crowds were pretty great and manageable, but Saturday, and especially Sunday, were insane! I've been in the summer and this was worse! It was kinda nuts. But because we did 4 days we spread everything out and did everything we wanted! I shopped a lot and we ate some yummy food! We didn't get anywhere near everything on our list, but still enjoyed a lot!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I'm glad you had fun even though it was busy.

Did you try any holiday treats? If so, what was your favorite?

What room type did you have at DLH?

Did you try any holiday treats? If so, what was your favorite? I did try a few. My favorite was the gingerbread churro with butterscotch dipping sauce. My other favorite was not a holiday treat...it was the garlic cheese pretzel roll and man that thing was so good! The peppermint ornament macaron from Jolly Holiday was another big winner! We had planned to try a lot of things but just couldn't eat them all! LOL

What room type did you have at DLH? I booked the DTD/Park view, basically the best view and the most expensive. When we got to our room the only view we had was a giant tree! I immediately went down to the front desk to ask for another room. I did not pay a premium to basically see a tree! You could not see anything park or dtd related, just a tree. They moved us and we had a better view, but honestly next time I stay at the DLH I will just book the cheapest room possible. The view is not worth the extra they charge for it.

I have always viewed Spring Break and summer as the busiest times. Would you say Halloween and Christmas are equally busy or maybe even overtaking those other times in the parks??

Agree with you about yesterday! I rope dropped at Disneyland, forgetting it was a candy cane day. Seemed like everyone was in line for those, though, so the first hour or two were pleasant and productive. Knew it was going to be crowded based on so many mobile order windows being pushed out by hours before the park even opened.

By about 10:30, I just got that feeling that it was time to leave. Grabbed my lunch, and then headed over to the Disneyland Hotel to see if I could get a tour of the new DVC villas. Was headed back home by noon. The benefits of being a local & Magic Key holder!

Glad you enjoyed yourselves! Around here, a lot of people will actually recommend summer as a great time to visit because so many Magic Keys are blocked out. I will say - yesterday was crowded, but the Sundays I visited during Halloween were worse. I know people love it at Halloween, but I'd rather deal with crowds for the Holidays. Since day guests get to experience all the offerings it just feels extra magical. I may be in the minority of guests who are sad they're starting Halloween earlier in 2024 🤣

You said you shopped a lot - how did you find the merchandise offerings? I've been kind of disappointed lately myself.
