Just back and had a fabulous time!

We also just got back from our Harry Potter Pilgrimage. The Gringotts ride has a scene with Bellatrix, Voldemort, and a giant snake. I'm terrified of snakes, but I just covered my eyes once I saw it. My son (10) was not scared at all. The Dementors on the Forbidden Journey did scare him, but he just closed his eyes. I had a hard time with FJ because of motion sickness.

The puppet show is on a stage in the corner of an alley just past Gringotts.

Thanks for the good advice! We are going to Uni for the first time in January. Couple questions for you: DD8 *loves* HP, however, she doesn't like anything even remotely scary. (As in, Haunted Mansion is too scary for her.) I'm guessing FJ is a no-go, but wondering about Gringotts and Hogwarts Express - are they scary at all? For some reason, she is ok with watching movies and reading books involving Dementors, giant spiders, etc. but does not want anything like that anywhere near her on a ride... Can you tell me what the scariness factor is? Also, the puppet shows sound really cute. I hadn't heard about those. Is there a schedule for them? Where are they performed? Are these replacing the choir and Celestina Warbeck (sp?) shows, or in addition to them? tia!

The dementors made me jump on FJ. My son is scared pretty easily and was ok on Gringotts. He just turned 6 and had no issues when we were there in October. The dementors are on the HE, but they are just images on the screen and not at all lifelike, so he was ok with them and so was my two year old (and we rode it quite a few times). Out of both parks, the only thing my son was scared of was the Poseidon's Fury "show". Although, I think that was more the loud noises.

The puppet show is in addition to.

Thanks for the details about the rides. I'm thinking we'll try Gringotts and HE - they don't sound too bad. I'll probably warn her that there may be some scary pictures, and tell her she can close her eyes if there's something she doesn't want to see. She'll be *really* bummed if she doesn't like HP-land - she's so looking forward to it, lol! I think she'll love the interactive wand stuff for sure. Keeping fingers crossed.

there's no possible way she won't love HP land :) My two year old who couldn't ride anything except HE was enthralled with it all. And, demanded a wand and Butterbeer :)

Gosh, maybe I'm a wimp, but Voldemort scared me on the Gringotts ride. He is so close, like he could touch you. The snake didn't help one bit.
