Just back this afternoon from a week long trip. Some things great about the trip, some not so great. But I will say that I was highly impressed with AKL this time. DD9 wasn't feeling well on Monday. She didn't eat much at breakfast that morning at CRT and said she didn't feel well. She went to the bathroom and said she felt a little better. After we got done with breakfast she asked to go back to the hotel to lay down. I knew she must not be feeling well if she wanted to go back to the hotel. Gave her some Pepto and she slept for a couple hours. After getting up we decided to go downstairs to make an ornament because she was feeling a little better. On the way back up to the room she said she felt like she was going to throw up. I told her to get to the garbage can. Unfortunately, she didn't make and got sick right in front of the elevators. Ended up with diarrhea and vomiting. My mom ran to get someone and I stayed right there to warn anyone getting off or on the elevator. A cast member came over and started to help clean up. They told me not to worry about the mess to go ahead and get her to the room. I took DD up to the room and my mom took her clothes to the laundramat. The same cast member called up to the room and asked if I wanted pediatric Mylanta or Pepto and if we would like Gingerale or Sprite. When the CM named Chris who was really nice came to the room he brought the Mylanta, Gingerale and a stuffed Pooh Bear. It made DD day. Pooh is one of her faves. They brightened the day of my sick child. She did not eat anything that day at all, nor did she eat anything at CP the next day for lunch (they didn't charge us for her meal, which we thought was really nice).

Then another thing that I really loved about the hotel was that later that night when we got back to the hotel after MVMCP, I tried to get DD to eat. She said nothing sounded good but some chicken noodle soup. I went to the food court and asked if they knew where I could get some. Another great CM said hold on and went I believe over to Boma and came back with some chicken noodle soup made with elbow macaroni. Luckily I got DD to eat about 3/4 of it.

It just made me feel so good that so many cast members went out of their way to help us and to help her feel better. Cast members from the front desk, from Mara and even our maid. They were great and just wanted to brag on them a little. It meant a lot that they brightened a bad time for my daughter.

So glad to hear this, we're staying there in April for the first time. I hope your daughter is now feeling much better!

I am sorry your DD had to be sick at WDW- but it sounds like the CMs really stepped up. It is CMs like those that make the magic that keeps me and my family going back to wdw again and again-
Hope DD is feeling better. Have a nice Holiday!:goodvibes

Sorry to hear your daughter was sick, but hopefully the remainder of the trip went well. :)

It's great to hear about the Cast Members at AKL really going out of their way to help out! :thumbsup2

Awwww, too bad your DD wasn't feeling well. It must have been tough to be not feeling way. Its great to hear how helpful the CM's were and tried to cheer up your poor sick girl. Thanks for sharing!

sorry your dd got sick but so glad the CM's were wonderful when we stayed here in June we met many wonderful CM's and our planning to stay here again in the near future AKL rocks :)

Nothing worse than a child being sick at WDW but it's great to know that the CMs went above and beyond to help you out.:goodvibes Hopefully you all were able to enjoy some of your trip.

Awwwww, so sorry your little one was sick. What wonderful CM's though, especially the pooh bear, I know that would cheer up my little ones!

I am so sorry your DD got sick and am really glad she is feeling better. The CMs at AKL sound wonderful. I only wish I could give the same praises to the CMs at CBR or on the Disney buses. On day 4 of our trip, we boarded a very crowded bus to AK at CBR, my family of 4 were standing. Our youngest DD collasped to the floor and had a gran mal seizure right there on the bus. My DH and I had our hands full. No one would move out of the way so we could get to DD, the bus driver wouldn't stop the bus until DH yelled at him, to stop and call for help. The bus driver asked if we wanted medical attention, well of course we did. So, finally he stopped the bus, called for another bus to clear the one we were on, and then called for medical help. In all this time, not one person offered up their seat for me to sit and hold my DD in my lap, at the conclusion of her seizure. Once EMTs arrived, they loaded me and DD in the ambulance, and DH and DD were taken back to CBR. DH wanted to know how he was going to get to the hospital to get to us and how were we going to get back to CBR if and once they decided to release DD. One of the transportation supervisors offered DH a ride to the hospital, but we still didn't know how we were going to get back. Once we were discharged, we called CBR to see what they recommended, and they told DH to call a cab, I said no way. I called back and asked them to send a car for us. Not one time did we fill out an incident report with WDW or the resort. We have not heard a word from them, they don't know if DD is ok, if they kept her overnight or anything. I guess if you stay in a moderate resort they don't care for their guests the same as they do at the deluxe. Sorry but what happened to my DD was very scary for us and her, and all those on the bus who witnessed it. I just think Disney dropped the ball on this one.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes for dd. She is definitely back to herself and actually laughs about the fact that "it came out two ways".

Mom2taylorandemily -- So sorry to here about what happened with your dd. I am a nurse and if I had been on that bus I definitely would have helped your dd. It's awful that they were that way. I think what's worse though is the way the the other people on the bus were. It does seem that more people are ruder than they used to be. We encountered many great CM's during our trip not just at our resort. However, we also encountered many rude people. It's awful that it's gotten like that. I hope that your dd is feeling better.
