Just back - a WDW vet take on DL/DCA

Lots of reasons why I love DL paper fastpasses. But I suppose one of the reasons I love them I guess is because others don't want to bother to go get them, so they stay available most of the day. I really think that once that barrier is removed we'll all be shocked at how fast they disappear.

I'm also very concerned about how any Disney IT system can withstand the simultaneous hit from so many people when the parks open for the day.

I think what most people would be shocked by is how long that makes every ride line. At DL you can still walk into a lot of rides all day long. At WDW- even things like Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh are FPs (not that PP is ever a walk on). At DL there are very few fps in comparison. I did notice that the stand by lines at WDW are a lot longer- probably because when someone is out of their first set of fps, they go ahead and start grabbing fps for whatever is available close by, so stand by line never really shrinks. The quota system at WDW is kind of galling and I'm a little worried that if DL does a similar system, they'll remove some of the single rider lines. (Ok, fine, so I'm mostly worried that Indian Jones single rider will close for good and thus prevent me from riding it 10 times a day:banana:)

There are some rides at DLR that I think could never have FP. Just not enough room to squeeze in a second entrance. But I do think that if they change the system, they will indeed start adding FP to some additional attractions. And I absolutely agree that slows things down. FP is prioritized over standby of course, so that makes standby even slower.
