We were @ WDW 10/22-10/29. Since we were just there last December and did a lot of on-site dining, we did a lot of off-site eating this time.
Lunch @ CP-we enjoy this restaurant and it did not disappoint! The kids ate a lot, which is a miracle considering it is a character meal and so much excitement. I wish I had some of the roasted corn spoon bread stuff right now. Love the rolls with chipotle-butter. I also really loved the desserts this time. Lemon bars, cheesecake swirl bars, coconut-pecan squares, soft serve ice cream....it was all so good!
Lunch at AK Rainforest-first time we have eaten at this location, we usually go to the DTD location. The main reason I made ADR's here was because it was the day we were touring AK and I had not eaten at any of the AK restaurants before. This was probably our worst meal. I had the bbq chicken wrap, dh had the planet earth pasta. We have had them in the past, but food was not warm enough, not very tasty and way overpriced. We should have just gone for counter service in the park.
Pecos Bills-had a quick dinner here the night we attended MNSSHP. We had never been here before. Dh had a cold and really could not taste his hamburger, but thought it was fine. I had the chicken wrap, which I loved. It was HUGE. DD and Ds shared the chicken, grapes and fries. It was crazy crowded, it had just started to rain and I think everyone decided to eat to wait out the shower. I would go back here again.
Lunch @ Kona. This is one of my all time favorite restaurants, especially for breakfast which we did not do there this time. I really missed my pineapple macadamia pancakes. My lunch was great, I had the chicken with peanut sauce with macaroni salad and sticky rice. Loved it!!!! My in-laws joined us for this meal and they both had the Kona club. Their only complaint was that they asked our server if the bread was toasted and she said yes, but it was not. Dh had the burger, which was really good until he hit the raw part in the middle!
He ate what he could, but finally told the server it just wasn't done enough, they offered to bring another, but he had had enough. They took it off of our bill after sending the manager to talk to us. Dd had the grilled chicken with fries and green beans, she loved her meal. I was glad they took the burger off of our bill, but was hoping for an offer of one of their yummy desserts! All in all, it was still good. Also, when we were walking out, we saw another Kona burger on someone's plate that was even more raw that dh's was!
Chef Mickeys for breakfast-one of our favorites as usual. Everything was fresh and yummy. When we were there in December it was SO crowded and chaotic, this time it was more laid-back, we were there @ 8:00. We only had ressies for the four of us and needed to add my in-laws. I had been calling for weeks, trying to add them with no luck. But when I checked in ready to beg for 2 more seats, they somehow had the 2 extra people already in the computer
. Don't know how that happened, must be the Disney magic!!
My only 2 complaints about this meal are: 1. It took Pluto forever to come to our side of the restaurant and that is who dd wanted to see, we waited about 10-15 minutes after paying and everything before we ever saw him, but we okay with waiting. 2. Being a southern girl, I wanted biscuits and gravy, the gravy here is TERRIBLE, inedible for me.
Other that a few snacks and quick things in the parks, the rest of our meals were off-site this time. Another great trip to the world for us!!!!!!!!!
