Our trip was unbelievable. We had a great time. The crowds were not there....for example:
MK, Sunday 8/28: Arrived before opening. The crowd waiting to get in did not even spill into the bag check area. That's how few people there were waiting to get in. (same with AK on 8/31 - we rode the bus there at 8:20 by ourselves). Walked over to Splash. Walk-on. BTMRR was down. Got FP. Left that area. Walking thru Frontierland there wasn't a person spotted in front of us or behind us - 9:30 a.m. SM and Buzz - walk-ons. Went over to Fantasyland - walked on tea cups, Pooh!!. While we don't do Dumbo anymore, I told my DH that if there wasn't a line I wanted to ride - guess what - we walked right into one of those spaces and were handed a card
. It was 10:30 a.m.
I also subscribe to Tour Guide Mike. Only followed some of it, because the parks were so empty that you could do whatever you wanted.
We had the best day at AK. The Gorillas were fascinating - don't miss them.
Another day we went to MK around 2 in the afternoon. We were the only people on the bus that day as well!!
On Friday, 9/2 (thought crowds would increase), Test Track posted 20 minutes. It was a walk-on. The longest time I ever saw was for Soarin', which was 40 min. We rode that 6 times, 4 with FP.
We stayed at the Beach Club for the first time and will definitely stay there again. The walk to Epcot is 5 minutes. It was fabulous. That's why we rode Soarin' 6 times!!
We also did EMH in the evening at MK. Early in the night most rides were walk-ons. But it wasn't crowded like I've read.
It was a great trip.
Any questions, ask away.
Anna
