DAY ONE: Wed/Thurs.
Although this was our 2nd trip to Universal, we were still very excited. We live in Louisiana, so this a 12 hour drive for us.
We left home at about 1:00pm cst and drove straight thru arriving at approx. 1:30 am Thur. We stayed the night at the Days Inn Lakeside.
Days Inn Lakeside review:
Okay, don't ever, ever, ever, stay here. Even overnight. The rooms were very old and run down. It had a musty smell, and we saw an uninvited insect as soon as we opened the door. This is why we stayed; it was 1:00 am; we didn't have reservations anywhere else; we knew this would be only for a few hours, then we would be checking into the Royal Pacific. We booked a room with 2 double beds, price $46.00. Anyway, we woke up at about 7:00am, realized that we forgotten our toothpaste. I called the front desk for toothpaste, and was told that I would need to come to the lobby and purchase from the gift shop. We asked for an iron, and was told that yes, we have a few left, but we would need to come to the front desk and leave a $20.00 deposit to use it. Sent DH to make the transactions, so that we could get the heck out of here.
