We just returned from a glorious week at WDW and participated in the Dining Plan for the first time. We absolutely loved the dining plan and cant wait to use it again. Here are the restaurants we chose and our thoughts of them:

Boma-
Decent food and service, overall grade of a C. Probably would not do it again.

Concourse Steakhouse-Quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants. Wife had buffalo which was delicious and the whole experience was great. Overall grade: A

Spirit of Aloha- Somehow we were lucky enough to get a table front row center stage. Show was nice and food was decent, albeit a bit hurried. Probably would not do it again. Overall grade: B

Mama Melrose's- Good food, sizeable portions, overall grade: B

Coral Reef- First time we ate at Coral Reef. Absolutely loved every minute of it. Server Jenny was very good as was decor and environment. Food was outstanding with lobster soup and mahi mahi as stellar offerings. Cannot wait to go here again. Overall grade: A +

Le Cellier- One of our favorites and it did not disappoint. Overall grade: A

Counter Service was nice with Seasons and Coronado Springs Pepper Market being our favorites.

Any questions, just let me know.

Thanks!!!!! What gave Boma the C grade? Thanks!

I thought a lot of the food was very sweet. The prime rib and coca cola pork were very good but the rest was fair. We also decided on this trip that we dont like buffets and would rather have a nice table experience, so that may have contributed to the C grade.

Thanks for the reviews. It is nice to hear good things about Coral Reef. We were thinking of going there this trip, but have read some not so great things about the restaurant. So, this gives me hopw our meal will be good.

I love coral reef. One of the best restaurants disney has too offer. Food is good and the scenary is great.

We very nearly cancelled Coral Reef due to some negative reviews. I am very happy we didnt. It was far and away the highlight of the week.

Shoot! I'm trying to decide between LeCellier & Coral Reef for our Epcot day... Now, I'm still confused! :confused3

It seems that you stayed at CSR because you ate cs at Pepper Market. Being that you were on the plan, how were the snack options at CSR? I have heard that they did not update the choices here and I was hoping to get breakfast items with the credits. TIA for information. :goodvibes

I'm so glad you had such positive reviews for Coral Reef and Concourse Steakhouse, I have one dinner ADR left, and now I don't know which one of the two I should choose!

We will be trying coral reef and concourse for the first time in August. So glad to hear you liked it!!!!!

We stayed at Beach Club Villas and headed over to CS on a couple occasions for the counter service at the Pepper Market. I thought the Pepper Market and Boardwalk Bakery had the best counter service options. The snacks at both CS and BCV were basically the same, although I thought BCV had a larger variety.

With either the Concourse or Coral Reef, especially on the dining plan, you cant go wrong. I guess if you werent on the plan, and they were equally priced, I'd choose the Coral Reef.

LodgeMan - OK, I took your advice and booked Coral Reef for 9/2 - I asked my dh if it would be somthing he would be interested in, and he said yes. Looking forward to it!

Thinking of doing Boma on my next trip. Why wouldn't you do it again? Thanks.

I am very interested in this also. When you say that the snacks were "the same" do you mean the snacks were the same as they had been before the big change or the snacks were the same between CSR and BCV (I'm tired so I'm easily confused ;) ). If you could give examples of things that you got on the DDP for snacks or you saw were available on the plan that would be a HUGE help for a lot of us planning our CSR trip. TIA :)

Could you please expand on why you felt rushed at Spirit of Aloha?

We are going in Sept and I have asked several times on this board for more information on how this entire dinner/show concept works, but never got any answers. Do they expect you to eat before the actual show starts? Is that why it feels rushed? Do they serve courses too fast?

I am going by myself with my 2 dd and we are not fast eaters. And by the time I take care of helping them (serve portions, cut up things, pick up dropped silverware, etc...) I am often the last one at the table finishing. I will be very upset if I don't get time to finish before they insist on clearing my plate. I had problems at Dixie Stampede several years ago with that--between helping the kids and also trying to watch the show while I ate (and I don't like to gobble) I couldn't finish before they came back to clear. I ended up with my food in a napkin so I could finish!

Thanks!

Thanks for the reviews. I am glad you liked Coral Reef, I have taken it off my ADR'S several times and have now put it back. I could only get it for lunch but I 'm good with that!!!!

Wow, thanks for the reviews. We're trying Coral Reef and Le Cellier for the first time this trip and are really looking forward to them after reading this. :thumbsup2
