We just got back and the DDP worked great. Well it was free so of course it was great.

Observations:

They have no problem adjusting the bill to accomodate 2 parties on the plan or any strange things (like paying for 1 adult meal because you used one credit for a kid the night before). They will automatically adjust the included gratuity on 2 separate checks and take 2 cards for the DDP and 2 gift cards for the tips. They will put them in separate folders so the people you dine with don't see what your gift card has on it. They just really know what they are doing with that. (also not sure if tip is always added or if it was because we had 7 people at the table)

Kids meals are crap in most instances. I don't care if you give my kid less but the chicken nuggets at counter service are crap. Give them good chicken just less and that is fine, but give them mashed chicken patty and that's just crap. So....

First I don't know if this would be possible with Free Dining as I'm not sure if they restrict number of adults on free dining plan in one room. But I should have made my 9 year old an adult buy purchasing an adult park pass. Heck I didn't realize that the adult pass was only like $25 more. And yes I realize it would have cost me more to upgrade him to adult dining (because we were in a value resort we had to upgrade). But it would have been worth it

Other things are find out what drinks are included. If you don't ask they give you small but large is always included. Even at breakfast with 2 drinks, large OJ and Water was fine with the adult meals.

Any questions please ask. I will review the restaurants in the appropriate forum later.

Do you have a list of the restaurants without a kid's meal? Those would be a good place to get food for your son. Sunshine Seasons has some nice food options for kids.

I share the 1/2 chicken meals with my niece. Maybe you could do that with your son to make his meal a bit bigger and healthier.

There's a Sticky under the Dining Plan board about Kids Meals: Here it is!
