Some notes from our trip this last week:
1) It was quite warm, like mid-80s, nearly every day. Our poor Minnesota bodies were not quite ready for it. The good news? The pool was wonderful! The day we left the weather turned and it was 50s and rainy.
2) Party day morning crowds at Magic Kingdom were blissfully tiny again. My kiddos were very happy to ride all their favorites in the first couple hours after park open, just one after another after another. My strategy of saving FP for the parks we hopped to in the evening was perfect. For example, we did a MK morning and by 11:30 had ridden all of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland with several repeats, and then used FP at Epcot for Frozen and such that night.
3) Took Minnie Vans twice. Wanted to take them more, but there was no availability. Fantastic service for those of us wanting two proper carseats. Drivers were both wonderful. I really hope they continue and expand so when you want one, you can get a confirmation and a time. Scheduling in advance would be even better...
4) Security lines at park entrances were fine, but they were typically quite a pain at the monorail stops. The three resorts seemed understaffed and we had long lines at both the Poly and Grand (waiting about 15-20 minutes). Going through security twice (once to get on monorail to TTC, second to get inside Epcot) was also a minor annoyance. I would plan a big cushion if you're planning some monorail transit. Walkway from BLT to MK was never more than a couple people deep, so that was nice.
I can see why early December is so popular - it was a lovely time to go overall with the decorations up and parks running at full steam.
