This was a girls only trip for me, my mom and my dds (8 & 4).
10/21 HDDR: We had a really good time, dd 8 loved it. 4 yo was a bit bored at times, but was ok. The food was ok, the fried chicken and the bread were the best. I think the girls ate a loaf of bread each! There was no problem getting hot dogs/mac & cheese for a picky pre-schooler. I'm glad we did this, but I wouldn't spend the money every trip.
10/22 PSB: We have done this before and had enjoyed it quite a bit. I didn't think the food was as good this time, but I just read on another post we could have asked for cereal, pancakes, etc. Next time!! However, we really enjoyed the princesses. I'll get to our CRT experience in a minute, but here we had wonderful princesses who spent a lot of time with the girls. We would do this again for sure. Everyone was really nice.
10/22 Crystal Palace dinner: We had tickets for MNSSHP, went into CP at about 5:00. PS wasn't until 5:25, but the kids were starved and they took us right away. We loved this dinner. Recent posts said something about this one going down hill, but we really liked it. Beautiful atmosphere, interesting and tasty food choices and great character interaction. Loved it!
10/23 Rose & Crown dinner with just the grown-ups: We had a 7:30 ps, showed up at 7:00 (it was so crowded with Food & Wine festival). We politely asked for outdoor seating for Illuminations. The cms at the counter were lovely. THey gave us a pager and we were buzzed about 15 minutes later. We had a wonderful table right at the edge, with a perfect view. We had Fish & chips and steak/prawns. The food was very good. We had a great meal and a great time. It is definitely worth it to get a front row seat for the show!
10/24 H&V Fantasmic package: Another good buffet. We enjoyed it. The atmosphere is not as nice as Crystal Palace, but the food was very good. Lots of choices, not your standard buffett fare. As far as the package, there were still good seats left at 7:00 for 7:30 Fantasmic without the package, but we were going to do a sit-down dinner anyway. We ended up going in about 50 minutes early. The cm said we could sit anywhere (we didn't have to stay in the reserved section, but we did because the seats were far enough over toward center that we were fine). I'd eat at H&V again, too, and do the package. It takes the pressure off, and we found the food to be good.
10/25 CRT breakfast: Well, we were very excited for this. We had 8:55 ps, we got there at 8:30. They took us right away. I have read so many opinions on this one versus PSB, I was curious to compare for myself. I thought the food at the castle was better (no question). However, the service was rushed and cold (the cms at the counter were cold and snappish), the waiter was cold and methodical, like he was sooooo bored with us. The princesses rushed, barely made eye contact with the girls. We had a bad table, which I'm sure made it worse. We were right in the main walkway from the kitchen, the very first table as you get off the elevator. If they try to give you that table, ask to move! We couldn't even get pictures in before a waitperson would walk through the shot. Oh well, we may try this again someday or just do a castle lunch!
Overall, we had GREAT dining experiences!! Oh, and the girls did the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party and loved that, too!!
