Back in the Highlands of Scotland after Samantha has driven 2050 miles round trip!
Not sure if she is writing/compiling a trip report or not....my thoughts well Disney didnt have the magic this year for me ...i personally think DLP has lost it from the staff upwards to the parades and its non existant New gen festival..i wont elaborate as tbh i will just be called a whingin old man and thats by the wife !

oh no thats terrible, i am sorry to hear you didnt enjoy yourself. was it an overall feeling or did you have some bad experiences there

Not bad experiences as such,it just wasnt magical/special even Sam agrees,i will get her to explain soon as i take about 3 days to type lol.

what a shame :(
nothing worse than an expected fun trip gone wrong:sad2:

sorry to hear u didnt find the magic chris - whats sams opinion of it?? hope shes not too tired

wud love to read a tr if u get the chance xx

Well done on such a mammoth drive.:scared1: Sorry it was for nowt, you must be very disappointed.

Hello everyone, well I think I've finally caught up with myself - had 12 hours sleep last night! so will try and get around to doing - or at least starting - a bit of a trippie later. I'm just trying to get my photos uploaded to photobucket so that I can add them. - got some photos of the family room at DLH which I thought would be useful and also the room service menu's and food

All in all it was an ok trip, think the magic wasn't there as there was a general lack of atmosphere in the parks, perhaps when/if we go again we'll make sure that it's definately during a season like Christmas or Halloween. On the plus side I thought the TSP addition to the studios was fab! and we had lovely weather throughout - even got a bit burned!

What did you think of the Disneyland Hotel? So is there a possibility you might get chris to take you back to DLP ever again ;)???

Hi, I'm looking forward to any Disneyland Hotel info as we are staying there at Christmas in a family room too.

Sorry it wasn't magic for you, we felt it was very magic but went in August when there are extra summer things on which is why we thought we would also go Christmas time because of the special extras. Perhaps it's why we weren't too keen when we visited the first time in March out of season as we didn't feel it had the magic then. It took us 6 years to return!! But I'm glad we did in the end :)

Looking forward to your trip report :surfweb:

Ive promised my wife and my daughter we will go Christmas 2011 and we have all agreed on the Cheyanne...i cant say im really looking foward to going as this trip i will admit i was ready for home after the second day or so..tbh even though it was a once in a lifetime trip to the DLH it certainly wasnt worth the expense....poor service as Sam has described on her post on the DLH thread and overall a poor experience......
She has started to put a trip report on the trip boards so more pics soon!

Oh dear, sorry you didn't enjoy the hotel. I hope we have a better experience at Christmas. Thanks for posting the pics of the room/views :)

I'm glad you're going back again ~ I really, really hope the Magic will be there for you again next time. :wizard:

Hope your next stay will be better. Just checked out the dlh family room pic, and wondered if they make up the sofa bed for you or if you need to do it yourself each day?

We're staying there in just over 2 weeks.

Many thanks

The sofa bed wasn't made up at any point during the stay, to be honest there wasn't even any bed linen left for it so DsD used the top bedspread from one of the beds - I guess you have to request the bedlinen for it

We usually book family rooms with sofa beds and the bedlinen is usually supplied although sometimes it's rather well hidden in cupboards. I guess this was just an oversight on their part but not very good when you consider how much it costs to stay there.

We've always had to make up the daybed/sofa beds ourselves wherever we've stayed, the only exception has been on DCL.

Thanks for the detailed photos you posted on the Hotel FAQ, that will be really helpful for others. :goodvibes We're going for 2 nights in May and still in two minds whether to stay here ~ it would be nice to stay the once and tick it off the list but the sensible part of me keeps thinking of what else I could spend the euros on!! :lmao:
