Just arrived 10-24

Arrived at the Fort a few hours ago via DME.

Wheels down at 733p
Off plane at 744p- was in row 3
Checked in at MDE at 750p
Bus left at 756p
On Property at 824p
1st stop OKW- skipped- more on that later
2nd stop Saratoga 834p
3rd stop OKW 844p
PO Riverside at 852.
Arrived at the Fort at 900p
Checked in around 905.
Still awaiting luggage at 1220a

When arriving OKW they had one lane closed to road work. Had a piece of equipment blocking the entrance. Was only letting 5 cars at a time go in each direction. They told our bus driver to go to SS and come back so he could get in at the first road which usually is used for cast members etc. If the people direction traffic let all the cars at one time clear there would not have been as much of a back up. Disney may have a lot of things down right, but directing traffic through one lane apparently isn't one of them . Probably would have shaved at least 10 min of the trip w out the road work and at least 5 min if they had cleared each lane and not stopped every at every 5 vehicles. Can't really complain around less then 90 min from wheels down to check in.

Still not luggage at 1230a so I'll call and ask then to hold it until the morning.

Starting out at MK in the morning. Lunch at BOG with a FP and a few FP+ in the afternoon.

EDIT- Went to call and they just left a message (not sure why the phone didn't ring, maybe they didn't want to wake us) letting me know it was ready when I wanted it.

I was pretty impressed by the efficiency of your arrival on MDE.

Then I read the last line about STILL waiting for your luggage.

We really lucked out with the connections. As I said right off the plane as we were up front and got the airport monorail right away. Almost was longer taxiing to the gate then getting off the plane to the DME Bus. We landed on the furthest runway to the east and had to go to Airside 1.

After I called they had my luggage to me in 5 min!!! Can't really complain about that. I asked and he told me they can make it that it only leaves a message and does not ring the phone and that's what they do late at night.

Slept in until 8 or so. Was at the MK by 10a and the hit the ground running, we did 13 rides/ attractions and were able to get 2 additional FP's so that helped. Got back here at 11p. My 5yo DD was a trouper, she asked to go back to the room right before dinner around 7. When I reminded her about dinner with Winnie the Pooh she forgot about the room. After dinner we were about to head back and she said "What about the fire works?" So we stayed . Leaving to head to the boat she said "this was the best day ever"

We can sleep in tomorrow as our first FP+ ends at 1110 at AK and after AK it's MNSSHP

Watching Wishes is our family's tradition for the first night. Made me kind of sentimental reading your first day. I can see the fireworks now...
