I awake at 0330 hours shower get ready, car was packed the night before, wake the kids who just lay there. :sad2: Finally I yell I'm going to Disney with out you, that gets them moving. We ship out and arrive at HIA around 0500 hours. Do all the normal things, park, catch a shuttle and make our way to Delta where I already checked in, just have to check the luggage! So we use the self help kiosk, I scan my boarding pass and an error pops up, error with your flight, please speak to Delta Direct. So the agent comes over takes my boarding pass and tells me that our flight from Cinicnatti was cancelled. :furious: WHAT????? My response, ok so what are we supposed to do? so he looks and looks and looks and finds a flight from Cin. to Chicago at 4:40 pm, then off to LA at 6:30 pm. So the only problem, he says is you will have a 9 hour lay over in Cin. Well what choice do we have?So he books us and then says well I upgraded you to first class on your flight to LA at our costs, I think it was the only seats left, but hey I will take it!
:woohoo:

So off we go to our first flight from HIA at 0630 hours, we arrive at Cin. around 0800 hours. Hmmm now what to do for 10 hours, having never been in this airport I was afraid to venture too far away from our terminal, incase the flight changed. So we disembark, walk over to a Delta desk and ask when we can get our boarding passes for our next fight, she tells me an hour before the flight, well fearing we would get booted or over booked, I just waited a few hours. So then we walked through some stores, tried to check for any earlier flights, sat a bit then opted to buy new carry ons, because mine was getting really heavy with my laptop in it, so $60 later and 2 new carry ons that we could pull, we tried to call Delta again for any avaiable flights. Nothing!Hit McDonalds around 1100 ate really really slow. Walked through more stores, sat and tried to nap in between flights exiting. Got some ice cream and sat so morel. Finally 1630 hours, ok we should be boarding soon, thn the dreaded, flight 5636 to Chicago as been delayed until 1700 hours. By now I realized, well actully earlier, jsut forgot to write it here, lol. There were a lot of upset customers, numerous cancelled flights, a lot of people sent some where over night, numerous over booked flights and a lt of familiar faces, well not really but they were there almost as long. Finally board around 1700, depart at 1720. Now scared that we will miss our flight to LA, I start to panic, now I know there is an hour time zone difference, but I sitll panic. We arrive at Chicago, another airport I have never been to. I find that my youngest, had an accident I guess he was so tired on the flight he never realized it. Ok so now I am upset. :sad2: I have no clothes for him we were supposed to have already been at DL by now. He doesn't have accidents like this, luckily DD has a pair of shorts and a sweatshirt so he goes as a girl form here on out!:cheer2: So we now have to run from Delta's terminal to United's, see now we ahve to change airlines. So nw the luggage scare sets in too, will it arrive. So we get to United, stand in line to get our boarding passes and the guy working the counter prints our tickets, 3 times???? Hello!! First he prints first class, then coach, then asks if we are first class, I mean I know a tired, deshoveled mother dragging her whining kids tell then to stop fighting ard arguing doesn't play the first class part, but hello, I can try! So I explain they upgraded us. We no sooner get the tickets and its time to board. We get questioned again as we hand over our boardingn passes to enter the gate. OH well! this flight was wonderful, drinks to start, warm nuts, warm towels, blankets, pillows, full meal and dessert and more drinks. we got to watch Astronaut Farmer andn listen to music. Now I did fly 1st class last year from WDW but on a 2 hour flight it is just snacks and drinks. So we finally arrive at LA around 2045 hours LA time, so it is 2345 home time, in PA. We are tired and I am mroe then grumpy. We get to the luggage claim and after looking for our luggage for an hour!! I finally go to assistane and find it arrived who knows when and was put in storage. At least it all arrived, we pick it up then stand ont he sidewalk to catch the Disneyland Express, an hour later. there are only about 12 of us on the bus, we are the 2nd to be dropped off. We check in around 2330 hours, make it to our room have to eat our rice krispie treats and pass out for the night. We are staying at Paradise Pier, concierge level. The rooms are very nice, we are 3rd floor and can walk out to the pool, just around the corner, DS is sleeping on the day bed which is nice and my DD and I each have our own beds, comfy! It is so nice. I am sitting here right now with the sliding door open, great breeze, sun shining, laughter in the back ground and just enjoying life. I will update our events of today a bit later. Time to head over to DL for dinner at Blue Bayou!!!Enjoy!

wow. What a start!! I'd love to hear details about PP concierge level. I'm trying to decide where to stay next on our trip to DLR. I've heard that the DL on property hotels don't compare to WDW. Is that true? Have you stayed at both WDW on site, and now DL?

I have stayed at both, and I must say this is a very nice hotel, I am much more accustomed to the resorts tough at WDW. However being on the conceirge level< we have our own patio area here at PP, so we can walk out and enjoy sitting out there, where as WDW most resorts, deluxe anyways have that here DL hotel doesn't have any that I saw, PP a few I assume all concierge level and GC has them for all rooms it looks, some a bit nicer and larger. The foods we found in concierge were, breakfast - pastries, yummy ones, cereal, fruit, bagels, coffee tea sodas milk juice, then there were snacks in the afternoon, chips, goldfish, fruit, trailmix and the drinks, we did not hit the evening cheese and wine etc.. desserts were some pastires, large yummy cookies, gold fish, trail mix and the drinks. Nothing overly substantial, but enough to hold us over from the morning until our dinner tonight at BB. the concierge staff is very helpful, we can borrow movies and they take care of everything for you, obviously, since that is what you pay for, rooms are bigger then most hotels, but again I am so used to walking right up to my room at WDW,not waiting for an elevator, it is a nice change though.

Any other questions let me know.

Excuse all of my typos, I am still on PA time and trying to get this typed up so my DD stops bugging to get on the computer

Yikes, woman! Everything starts out like a well-oiled military machine, then piece by piece falls apart through no fault of your own. You seemed very together about the whole thing, I must say. I think I would have

Glad you finally made it! And I'm on to the next segments! :thumbsup2
