haven't visited the site for a few years as haven't been able to afford to go back!! We visited at easter 2010 & stayed in pop century & had a fab time. Can afford it this year (kids now 12 & 15) but can only go last 2 weeks in aug. I'm nervous about weather (I can cope with the showers but not the hurricanes! Husband thinks we should go for it!). Can get all star music resort from Glasgow flying with virgin for £4400 with Disney holidays & they are offering £1112 for 14 days Disney tickets. The last time we went we booked too early & missed out on some great offers such as reduced dining packages & free Disney dollars and such like (or so I seem to recall!). There doesn't seem to be anything like that on the go at the moment on Disney website. Have I left it too late or might these offers still come along? Thanks

The gift card incentive and free Disney dining offers finished in October and I don't think that these will become available again now for 2014. I'm sure Disney will start to look at the offers for 2015 now.

The current offer from Disney is a room discount. Free dining has come and gone already unfortunately.

I also would worry about hurricanes - they are pretty rare (for actually hitting FL) :goodvibes

I've been to Florida in August in 1992, 2009, 2012 and 2013 and we are going in August again this year.
The only problem we've ever experienced with the weather was in 2012 when we were on the Allure of the Seas in the Caribbean when Hurricane Isaac was a tropical storm. Besides that we've just found the weather to be hot and humid but it is manageable with the air conditioning in the parks :thumbsup2

thank you all. Gutted to see that virgin have put flights up and we are now looking at around an extra £800!!! Having a bit of a play with different dates and going to see if I can get some extra time off work to change dates slightly!!!

Have you tried pricing the booking on the Disney site? If you select the flight inclusive holidays Virgin is one of the flight available. We've found the last 2 years that the price Disney want is considerably less than Virgin want for the identical holiday.

If you really want to book with Virgin you can take a print out of the same holiday from the Disney website & ask them to price match. They price matched for us on our trip in 2013 even after we had booked & were making changes, the Disney price was £2k cheaper for us that year for the same holiday.

All that can say is no.

I've been in August maybe 10 times have experience 2 hurricanes. In the event Disney will keep you completely safe & on both occasions it happened to me the parks opened as normal the next morning. Go for it, the chance you get a hurricane is really minimally small! :thumbsup2

We booked with travel city direct in 2012 and they used virgin a sister company try them or phone disney direct

It can work out cheaper if you can fly on a tuesday or wednesday. We have to fly home on a monday to get back in time for school on wednesday but prices for a day later are quite a bit less:thumbsup2

Thanks all. Yesterday expedia was about £4100, Disney about £4400 & virgin about £4800 all for the same virgin holiday. All up by about £800 today. Due to holiday dates from school & my work we are a bit limited and virgin were offering the best days. never mind will see I I can change my dates a bit at Thomson had a better one for a few days later thanks again

Are you willing to do DIY or are you looking for the complete package?

We've done DIY and have got it much cheaper than that :thumbsup2
