Just a silly vent...

I will preface this by saying I told DH last week that an old friend is coming in to town this weekend and I would be hanging out with her on Sat. night if he wanted to join us. So, the phone just rings and it's his friend and I hear him saying 'ok, I'll check with my wife and get back to you" So, he hangs up and turns to me and says 'they invited us over sat night but I know you have plans so I told him I'd call him back during the week and let him know." Um.....,,,you KNOW I have plans so why didn't you tell him right then that it wasn't good for us. The friend was also going to invite another couple but DH told him that they will be away for the weekend so if they knew we couldn't make it also, maybe we could pick another date. I know it's a silly vent but just so aggravating. Oh well, he's the one that will have to call them back and he hates making phone calls so

That so sounds like something my DH would do! Oh well, it's better than my friend's DH. We love them dearly (we set them up on their 1st date and were the Best Man and Maid of Honor at their wedding), BUT- we knew when they lived here (they have since moved cross country), never to count on them if we had plans with them. Her DH was very forgetful and he was known to book up to 3 sets of plans with different people for a Saturday night. (Luckily, if they had 3 sets of plans, a lot of times they would pick us and cancel the others).
