Some of us are DIS-ing at work. I know that we should have our sound muted if we are DIS-ing at work, but I have certain alerts that need to be on when I'm on my work PC.

Please, oh please, if your post contains sound - WARN us about it in the title!!!!

No lectures about DIS-ing when I shouldn't be, please...

What if we add sound to an existing post? We can't change the title to reflect that there's sound there. I can completely sympathize with you. I leave my speakers turned nearly all the way down (or off) at work. Nothing like having "It's A Small World" come blaring over your speakers in the middle of the afternoon.

I know that I, for one, have seriously curtailed my sound posts. If I am the author of a post that has a sound byte, I will most certainly make note of it in the title.

My post was a general observation, aimed at no one's posts in particular! I've just been "burned" a couple of times lately when clicking unwaringly on an interesting topic!

I SO agree! There is something wrong with my speakers, because I can't turn them down! Please, if you put sound in your post let us know in the subject line. Also, if you are putting sound in someone else's post, feel free to PM me and I'll put it in the subject line for you.

I enjoy sound in some of my posts and I agree. Other than my picture posts (which most people seem to have come to expect sound), I try to always put *sound* in the subject line. As for adding sound to a thread, in a reply, I don't like that, as it seems to take over the OP's thread, JMO. Several times I have added sound, when the OP has asked if anyone could add for them, at their request.

I also appreciate knowing because threads with sound really seem to get hung up on this old machine, so I usually skip them.
