I thought that my neice would have fun collecting the pressed pennies on our trip in December. Does anyone make and/or sell special albums to hold and display the pressed pennies?

In what WDW shops would I find these albums? Any idea how much they sell for?

Thanks

Not sure how much they sell for, but you can find the albums in just about every shop, or at least could when we were there in April

We bought ours in our resort gift shop, but I saw them all over the parks. I believe ours was $6.

we always found the books near cash registered in the shops.

But I also wanted to say they have some great pressed pennies machines at the All star movie resorts. I loved the tigger as mickey.

You can get coin collector books at most local bookstores that hold more and for a lot less than at disney

Our 3 kids took advantage of every pressed penny machine they could find on our recent trip. They each have an album which I purchased in advance from Gifts of a Lifetime, but we saw the albums in every shop we went in. Just a tip - take plenty of quarters with you. My kids had their pennies ready, but kept running out of quarters and we were forever having to get change from the nearest register. Each penny machine requires 2 quarters as well as the penny.

I appreciate all of the great tips. I think that the pressed penny collection will be a great treasure hunt as we make our way around WDW. We will always be looking around every corner and exploring for treasure. I love adventures. This is also a souvenir that my niece can rearrange as many times as she wants without fear of breaking. And they pack flat. That is always a plus.

Thanks again,

Little Bear,

What my Dad and I do is buy 2x2 elongated coin holders from this website

http://members.aol.com/rrcoins96/supplies.htm

100 holders are $3.75. They're really only for the pennies, but we use them for quarters too. Then we take the holders and put them into the typical vinyl pages that are available at any coin shop. Then we take the pages and put them in any ol' 3-ring binder.

We like the holders that Disney sells, but when you're collection is in the 100's, they aren't really helpful anymore. We've been collecting Disney (WDW and DL) squished pennies since the 25th anniversaryof WDW in 1997. They started out being the "cheap" souvenier, but wow does it add up!

Another reminder. The US Mint switched from copper pennies to zinc pennies with a copper coating sometime in 1982. So for the "best" pressed pennies, make sure to use pennies with a date BEFORE 1982 (although some 1982 pennies are OK - better safe than sorry).
