Just a couple of questions.

Backstory: We're going from June 27th to July 4th. Our daughters will be danving in MSEP. We have 8 day hopper tickets with wp&m add on. We've never flown before but are thinking of it this time as its a 22 hour drive. The flight we want to take will arrive at MCO at 9 am. We're staying at CBR.

Questions: what is the earliest we could be in a park? It's a Monday so which park would be best to hit? We'd only have a few hours because the girls have to be at parade practice at 3 pm, they're in the 8 pm parade that night. I'm just assuming the practice is at MK. We will leave for our room as soon as we have our girls back because the next day they'll be dancing early morning at EPCOT but we want to get as much out of our tickets as we can without wearing us all out.

It's all dependent on the amount of time it takes DME to get to CBR, check-in, and take the bus to a park. I'd say no later than 11:30-12:00p. If the practice is at MK, I'd opt to go there as you'll lose quite a bit of time traveling between parks for a 3pm rehearsal.

That was what my plan was too. My husband had heard that MK was really busy on Monday and thought maybe we should change plans, lol. I figured we'd eat lunch, book some fast passes and hit what we can without expectations before they had to be at practice

Weekdays are the best for MK because a lot of people come just for the weekend plus locals and the first place everyone wants to go is MK. I agree that if the practice is in the MK anyway it makes perfect sense to spend the extra time there.

If you land at 9am (assuming everything goes smoothly) you can be at your hotel by 10:30 and in the parks by noon. I think this would make for safe planning if you get there earlier great, but its best to play it safe when planning for things you can't control. Definitely book FP for those 3 hours though and you'll have a great first day before you have to drop of the girls and plenty of time to relax!

Thank you :) The kids backed me up tonight saying they just HAD to start their trip in MK. Going anywhere else just wouldn't be the same, lol

Wow, you are traveling ON a performance day? That's taking a chance. I know you have hours of cushion, but flights are unpredictable. And if you are landing at 9, what time did you wake up? Your girls will be exhausted before rehearsing and then performing.

Just my thoughts; I'm sure you have your reasons to schedule it that way. Personally, I'd fly in the day before and stay somewhere cheap, so the girls can be rested and on time for their events.

We are big fans of flying in the night before. You can either stay at the Marriot at MCO or get an inexpensive hotel near the airport with a free airport shuttle, then take MDE to your Disney resort the next day.

My kids also insist on starting every trip at MK! We just aren't "at Disney" until we ride the monorail up to the front gates and walk under the train station. :earboy2:

We are flying on performance day because that's the way our package is set up. We'd checked into flying down a day early but with the extra hotel stay and for some reason the plane tickets are more it would add quite a bit to our stay and make it cost prohibitive for us. We also own a farm and as it is we're having a hard time working out getting help for the week. Adding in another day is just one more day of hassle as far as that's concerned. The girls will have to be up pretty early but they can fall asleep anywhere so I think they'll be ok. If worse comes to worse we won't go to a park at all but take a nap instead

So we can do MDE the next day? We've done it once, on our honeymoon 15 years ago, lol. I wasn't exactly sure of the logistics of it and we're still in the early stages of planning flying so I hadn't really done much research yet

Sure, just do a search for a flight that lands on the day you want DME at about the time you'd like to catch a bus to the resort. Tell Disney you are on that flight, and just bring your luggage and go down to DME and check in using your magic bands. You'll be all set!

I think this is a great idea, thanks. We won't be back for a couple years but will keep this in mind. Could fly out after work, then head to Disney early the next morning and have a full day.

Thanks. This is good to know :)
