I heard someone say that there was a jurassic park ride at universal studios before islands of adventure was built but they tore it down and put a different one in ioa, is this true?
no, there IS a JP boat ride at Universal Hollywood and it's still there...the only thing I can think of is the T-Rex photo place they moved from Universal to IOA recently...but that's the only real JP thing in Universal itself
One more thing, I believe the ride was actually planned for Universal itself before the IOA project started. I first heard about a dinosaur river ride in....1991, I kid you not. My mother had worked at Lombard's Landing since opening day and said she heard about it. At the time I didn't even know Jurassic Park was filming or anything. The only dinosaur thing I was aware of back then was "The Land Before Time", lol

the first JP movie opened in '93. so UO definately had their stuff together if they were spitballing the ride in '91. it's cool to see how it all comes together.
yeah, well it's interesting to also note that there was a river raft scene in the book and it was supposed to be in the movie, they did drawings for it and everything, but that part never made it to the movie screen, Im going to guess that it was already planned for the ride, which is why we now have a river adventure.
