Jurassic Drop...

The drop felt stronger to me than Splash Mountain, but it's over before you know it. About getting soaked... I think people are mis-using the word "soaked." Soaked is when it's like you just jumped into a pool with all your clothes on. Popeye's pretty much does that since you go under waterfalls and such.

Log flumes don't do that. You can get really wet or splashed/sprayed, but nothing where you will come out dripping wet.

I have came off JP several times......soaked.......my shorts were drenched I could wring them out....teeshirt drenched.......hair drenched........that`s what I call soaked!!!

That`s one of the reasons ds stopped coming on as he was fed up being "drenched"..... whereas we love it......especially if its really hot.

Yes Popeye you always get saturated with water, no two ways about that.........but like I said sometimes we have come off JP dry as a bone....but we certainly have gotten a good old soaking at times.

Guess we`re just unlucky :)

I agree. Generally we stay dry on this ride but every once in a while we get soaked.

Hmm... it must be the first row then? I always ask not to be put in the first row on flumes. The only way I see you can get soaked is if there is a wave of water that comes up over the edges of the boat (more than likely over the front of the boat.)

We were soaked on the second and third row last year. But we sat on the second row another time and I ducked down and the girl behind me got soaked on her head and top half.

One day last year we went on 6 times straight after the other......5 times dryish.....well wet not soaked.....then the 6th we were soaked and DS laughed his socks off at us.

I guess it all depends on the weight and distribution of the boat.

We can`t go on the first row as DH knees get bashed against the front as he is too tall for it, so we always go at least second row.

Ok, so 72 hours I rode this and I remember so thoroughly because I was scared to go on also! Drop is steeper than SM but not scarey. When you see the TRex head be ready. There is one lap bar that goes across the row - 5 seats in each row). I was 3rd row middle seat and if I had ducked I might have saved some of my hair and makeup but expected a SM drop and when the wave of water hit my face I was mortified. Like we are talking a bucket thrown at my face. Again, if you duck you might avoid most of it. But brave me hands in the air took it full on. It took me 20 minutes just to get the kids to stop laughing and for me to remove the Alice Cooper look!

My body wasn't as wet. Just your butt as you will have to sit in a puddle. I have a photo which I have told my daughter she can never show anyone! LOL. Have fun.

I remember the second time I rode JP.
There was this big fellow sitting in my row. The cross bar could not be lowered any further and there was this gap of about a foot and a half from the lapbar to my body.. I was like ... what the :scared1:

That was one bumpy drop!

Cheers!

Its scary! i duck my head, close my eyes and count, it takes almost 8 seconds from the time i shut my eyes until i am drenched. one of these days i am going to leave my eyes open!
