Jungle Cruise or Skipper Canteen First

I have obviously started to get too deep in the weeds for our upcoming March 18-25 trip! We have lunch reservations for Skipper Canteen, and my kiddos 8/7 have never ridden Jungle Cruise. Which is best to do first, the lunch or the ride?

It's themed as the place the skippers go but it's not really the same atmosphere. I'd do lunch first if you want them back to back just because it's more mellow at the restaurant and you never know what the ride line will be that might impact your adr and being on time to it.

In regards to appreciating the theme of the Skipper Canteen?

I'd say go on Jungle Cruise first so your kids understand the gist of the Cruise Skipper CMs. Then they'll have a point of reference for the Canteen Skippers' behavior.

If your family isn't into adventurous eating, going on the cruise first won't really matter in terms of ordering menu items. Your kids will probably just choose the regular menu items found at all Disney restaurants.

I'm right there in the deep woods with you!
We just did this in September. We did the jungle cruise ride and then went to our lunch afterwards. It was fun and atmospheric! No problems with timing, since the FP window is generous.
