We have never been on JC, and to be honest, it has never been one of our priorities. However, I have read that it is better at night. We will be returning to the MK a couple of evenings for Wishes and Spectro, and I thought that might be a good time to do it. I have ALSO read that it is only open at night "seasonally". So my question is, is JC open at night right now? Is it only open at night on EMH evenings, or every evening? Will it be crowded (the attraction, not the park) on an EMH evening, and will we need to FP it?
Thanks!

Though I haven't done it in years, it's sooooo much better at night in my opinion as is Thunder Mtn!!!! :)

I was amazed at how much better it was at night! You know the animals aren't real, but the dark helps make it spookier. We were on it while Wishes was going on and I was amazed we could see the fireworks, but couldn't hear any of the music.

I've had it open at night in the off season, but can't speak for now.

it is so much better at night. I swear the CMs are far goofier and have had our boats in stitches! It's about the only time I really enjoy going on the ride now!

I really don't like the Jungle Snooze - I think the next time I am in MK, I will ride it at night. :)

JC is a favorite for our family and yes it is a totally different ride at night, as a previous poster said, kinda spooky. We have been on when it is a bit on the misty/foggy side and that really adds alot to it. A must for us!!

My dh prefers it more in the day time. But I asked him if we were alone (sans kids) what would he prefer? He chose night.

On our night ride my 8yo ds was able to "drive" to boat for several minutes. I suspect this is a common occurance, but he sure had fun!

JC is a LOT less hokey at night. lol :thumbsup2 I also recomend doing HM at night too since it adds to the eerie theming.

I like it better during the day. But if you don't have a good guide, it isn't any good. The guide makes all the difference.

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know what the hours of operation are, currently?

Usually it is open from about 10am until closing. It is not open during EMH though.

Our first JC was at night. On the next trip we rode it around lunch time...not as good. I did not think anything of it when we rode at night until we rode during daylight.

We've done the JC many times, but never at night. It sounds like fun. Our next trip is in December, does anyone know if they leave it open any of the nights during that time or if it will be open during MVMCP. Thanks in advance for any info.

Sweet! I always thought it was closed at night. I guess I was wrong. So now I guess I have something new to look forward to! :bounce:

Another vote for night time cruises. I dont go during the days anymore but when at MK in the evenings I try to get the last boat out. The skippers seem to enjoy their last trip more and it is the perfect way to wind down before a very slow walk down Main Street when exiting.

I don't know about MVMCP but we rode it Christmas night 2 years ago so it was open then during regular park hours.

I rode it on EMH night on Sept 17. FP was not available. There was a bit of a line and the boat had to wait to leave until the next boat came around the corner to leave. It was fun in the dark.

It's fun at night... this was one of the rides that DD and I some how always missed - until last Dec we were there one soggy wet chilly Saturday... we sent on the ride and just loved it - hokey jokes and all. In all the times we have ridden it since - several at night - we have had only one REALLY bad driver... we know all the jokes, but it's just so silly we still love it!"Two of his heads for one of yours!"
