I'm no expert at all, but here is some suggestions on how I made it (to get that quest you are on!):
1.) Get all the fuel and film that you see. As a section loads, look ahead to see where you'll need to steer.
2.) Let your boat drift, turning gently as needed to get fuel and film.
3.) Avoid obstacles as much as possible! They rob your fuel. Also, watch out for animals that pop up out of the water and BECOME obstacles that rob your fuel.
4.) As needed, tap the down arrow (which is like putting the boat in reverse) to hold your position. I drift through most of each section, then I hold the boat near the end (the right side of the screen) by tapping the down arrow before it leaves the room. You will get a feel for holding the boat from drifting. Hold it near the end until the animals stop showing up. THEN, let the boat drift to the next room.
5.) Never use the up arrow, which makes the boat go faster forward. I've tried, thinking it would help to zip into the next section after the animals are done...it doesn't work! You will run out of fuel too fast. See number 4!
6.) When taking photos, simply try to put your mouse cursor on the animal and click. That will usually be about perfect in the frame. Side note: I seem to get more "flawless" photos if I hold the mouse button down for a little longer than a normal mouse click.
7.) If you need to make a tricky manuever to get fuel or film, the manuevering needs to take priority over taking pictures!
8.) You really have to focus on not hitting obstacles as you finish a round, go past the loading dock, and start again. It is VERY difficult at the loading dock. It might take some practice to maneuver without hitting anything and losing fuel. It is critical to avoid collisions early in the game, because it gets almost impossible to not hit something near the end!
You can also use your down arrow sparingly to help slow down your drift and help you manuever. For the most part, when going past the loading dock, it is a matter of knowing when to turn: judging where the boat sits versus the obstacles.
I hope this helps.
Again, I've only played Jungle to meet the points needed for a quest and I've helped my friends with these techniques. I'm sure more ideas will be shared.
Keep trying, you *will* get it!
