I was on a thread before that got closed because it went in a really bad direction, but another poster brought up the thought of AK having a dark jungle book ride or a dark Lion king ride, (which had little to do with the original OP's question but at least took a break from the fighting on that thread). Anywho's, Jungle Book has always been my FAVORITE disney movie and I think that could be such a GREAT RIDE!!!! It goe's with the theming of AK and would be kid friendly (but a bit thrilling, like POTC). I would really love to see that happen. Would anyone else be interested in a ride like this? Not my  but I still think it sounds like something that should be at AK.:yay:

I would like it, but I think that Disney should revamp the
Jungle Cruise Ride with the Theme of The Jungle Book.
I have gotten tired of the stupid Jokes on the Jungle Cruises.

Speaking of JC jokes, isn't there a thread with all the jokes? I remember reading thru it and just cracking up! I only go once a year to wdw so it always makes me laugh.:goodvibes

I so agree, I am laughing but it is not because of how good the jokes are.(sounds cruel but as long as they don't know it won't hurt them). I kinda think even the CM's on Jungle Cruise cringe at the lines they have to say! Well, it's all in good fun!

Jungle Cruise is a classic Disney ride. Isn't it bad enough that we had to change the Tiki Room and get rid of ExtraTERRORistal for Stitch? That's like saying, "I'm tired of looking at the castle everytime I'm there, they should turn it into something else."

A lot of it has to do with the CM as well. Last time we went, our boat had a CM named Steve. He was HI-LARIOUS and even though the jokes made me groan the laughing of my two kids made it great. Are they stuck to a script or can they ad-lib ? Steve really involved my daughter and even posed for a bunch of pictures with her at his request.

Evil Genius, even though I cringe at the lines they say (but still actually enjoy them) I would not want JC to go away either. But I WOULD like the Jungle Book ride at AK!!!! There are many rides I hope they NEVER touch!

I agree that Jungle Book would make a great ride, but for Disney to bring it up after so long they would have to put out a(nother?) sequel so they don't look desperate for ideas (at least to non-disers)
I don't know about the whole dark ride idea though, the daytime scenes are what would make a good ride, like the float down the river, elephants, the big "I wanna be like you" dance, etc. Talk about some advanced animatronics though for that last one...

My BIL was the CM on the Jungle Cruise in DLR about 25 years ago. He ad-libbed (probably a little too much) and they fired him. :rotfl:

All the animatronics singing" I wanna be like you," I would LOVE to see that at the end of the ride! But your right, that is a TALL order! As far as the adlibbing, I would definitely be afraid at the thought of some of my family members being cast members and getting to say whatever popped into their heads!!!:scared1:

We stopped doing Jungle Cruise a number of years ago. When you know what's going to be said (nearly word for word) and at which point in the ride, it gets a little stale. Updating it to include Jungle Book characters sounds like a great idea. It would be simpler than a total reconstruction and they already have the characters. I'm not so sure they'd have to re-issue Jungle Book. And even if they did, they re-issue most of the favorites on a regular basis.

lol, that was my post your refering to.

It just seemed like a perfect movie to be represented in the park. The Jungle Book is the best movie that is not represented in the parks in any way shape of form. It would be like crazy bright and colorful; more like like small world than Peter Pan. You would ride a boat like thing. I say boat like thing because your not in a boat, but your in the water. It would be like Peter Pan in that way. For the first part of the ride your in the water, but half way through you fly over the jungle and see: Kaa, the Vultures, The Monkeys and you then make you decent back to the river. It would be a very unique ride; something Animal Kingdom needs. More so, it would bring more people to Africa. As of now it's a place for the Safari ride and that's it.

The Lion King one would be the more traditinal one like Alice In Wonderland, Pooh, Mr. Toad, ect...

That thread was absolute chaos. It's a real shame it went to that.

I dont consider a simple meet and greet a representation of the movies. Earlier this year they had the whole cast of The Jungle Book as meet and greets at Animal Kingdom. Baloo, Mowgli, King Louie, and Colonel Hathi the Elephant were all there. I still wouldnt consider that representation of a movie.

More dark rides please!!!

I wanna be like you who who
bare nessecities

I can't think of the others right now.

How cool would it be to go through all the scenes of that movie!

'The Jungle Book' would be an AWESOME dark ride for AK! What a great idea! Someone needs to write a letter or something and make it happen!

Another vote for Jungle Book ride..... I love that movie!!!!

Dont mess with Jungle Cruise... I know its corny but its one of Walt's original ideas.

And before Stitch's Great Escape was ExtraTERRORestial.... the original ride was Mission to Mars.....Anybody out there as old as me to remember that one?????
