Our Aunt (55/f) - Buisnesswoman, loves to spend time at WDW relaxing as opposed to running the parks 24/7, has a walking handicap.
Little Cousin C (6/m) - will arrive with his parents later in the trip...Cousin B's brother.
Cousin D (34/m) - B and C's Dad, will join us later in the trip
Cousin D's DW (32/f) - Will join us later in the trip.
-------------------------------
It's Tuesday July 27 and the sun is shining once again. The plan today is to meet up with the cousins and hit the parks, but those plans change when the phone rings aroun 8:30am. It seems little cousin (6) is feeling ill. They are going to chill out a bit this morning and hit the parks later..they tell us to head out on our own and they will catch up.
So Cousin (22) and I get ready and head over to Epcot and decide to do somehting we know the kids probably wont want to do...we hit the World Showcase. We start in Canada and make are way around to France...we make a PS for lunch at the Rose and Crown (one of my fav restaurants at WDW...Im a sucker for those Brittish Women...that accent gets me everytime
) At lunch time we head back to the RandC and dine on the world famous Harry Ramsdens Fish and Chips. Our waitress is wonderful...it turns out it's her birthday (I tip her extra and wish her a happy birthday). I enjoy a wonderful Beer drink...called a golden brew...very tasty and smooth.
We then resume our trak around the world. We see the American Adventure, catch the street performers at the UK, the singers in America, the Living statues in france, the drummers in Japan....I do love the World Showcase. When I worked at WDW I would come here often and savor the atmosphere..the themeing here is AMAZING...nothing like it. I am a writer so I was known to sit on a bench in the Showcase and write about the people I saw during the day...it's a quirk and a writing study for me. I love meeting the Cast at the showcase as well, talking with them about their lives and home countries. I could spend days at the countries exploring. Well today we spend several hours talking with some CMs and shopping. We get to Germany and I am talking with a young lady from Berlin...she was enjoying her time here and we talked abotu odds and ends for a bit...suddently, the skies parted and began collapsing on us...out of nowhere cam a HUGE downpour....and storm that lasted nearly 2 hours.
While it is raining, I get the idea to call the POFQ and try to reach a management contact I have there...I have some deadlines tiomorrow mornign and I MUST have my laptop tonight. So I call and havea few brief conversations...and I am told the problem will be taken care of immediatly. We continue to shop in Germany then raced to China dodging rain drops en route and searched their too. Once the rain stopped we saw Norway and MExico as well...those two boat rides are very underrated...I didnt realize how long it had been since I rode Malestrom...its been ages..what a fun ride.
We head back to Future World, seem Imagination, and discuss how much we miss the old days when Dreamfinder was still around. We miss him. We hit the Living Seas...I love sealife. We also hit the land and then realize its almost 6 and we haven't heard from the cousins...I check my phone to find its dead, so cousin (22) calls my voicemail from his phone and finds out I have 4 messages..one from the other cousins who couldn't reach us and decided to head out on their own..no big deal. Also, a 3 messages from 3 different managers at POFQ..."so sorry this got screw up..whe should have been on this days ago..." and the best message of all "WE FOUND YOUR CHARGER! and we're having a runner courier it to your room!" Wahooo!!!!!!! I celebrate breifly and then we call the family. They are at MGM...we hop the boat to MGM, hit some of the rides and close the place down. We then head back to the Poly and wind down from a fun day. I arrive in the room to find my long lost Carger sitting on my bed! Yippee! Now I have to do soem work...hmm...double edged sword.
We ate a fews snacks while touring the countries and skipped a dinner meal. It's gettign late and about 10:30 we decide we're starving and call room service for a late night pizza run. We dine on a Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza. I am able to finish some paperwork and get it emailed to the right places tonight with my battery charger back in hand. Thank goodness they found it.
After a while we drift off to sleep. Where is all the time going? ITs going too fast! Somebody slow down the ride please, Im not ready for it to be more than halfway over yet....oh well, better make the most of the rest of it. 3 more days.
Well kids, thanks for joing me on this edition of Jungle Adventures..tune in tomorrow for more exciting adventures at WDW!
Hope you have enjoyed!
