We are planning a WDW vacation next summer - either June or August. (With the kids being older now, and especially with one in college, I don't feel they can missing a week's worth of school without it affecting grades and GPAs.) Is one month better than the other with respect to crowds, heat, humidity, rain, chance of hurricanes?

I can't speak about June, but we went to WDW this past August (because of free dining). Was it hot? Yes, but not hotter or more humid than we're used to in CT. There was a brief rain/thunderstorm in the afternoon some days, but we were usually back at the hotel getting ready to go back out for dinner and a different park.

August is during Hurricane season. The crowds weren't horrible, but the parks weren't empty either. We didn't tour commando style, just picked the few rides/attractions we wanted to see and took our time. It worked for us. YMMV.

Have fun whichever you decide! :cool1:

I can't comment on August, other than it being more susceptible to hurricanes, but my family spent 8 days at WDW this past June.

Really wasn't much hotter than Ohio, definitely more humid. We only had two afternoons with brief thunderstorms (1 being the last day :) ).

Parks were pretty busy, but no more that what we're use to here at Cedar Point or Kings Island.

I guess it wasn't too bad. We're planning a 10-12 day trip for June '07 (in the same situation as you with the kids.)

:Pinkbounc You will enjoy regardless of month :bounce:

We have done both and we found that June is more crowded as a lot of the south goes back to school early august.

We go the middle of august and yes it is HOT and HUMID and there is the threat of thunderstorms (and hurricanes!) but you have to know what you can tolerate.

We went in August for the first time ever this year. We found the crowds very tolerable and the heat was just not as bad as I was expecting. This was very late August though and I am assuming alot of kids were in school, or starting the very next week. It wasn't a bad time to go in my opinion...
