We are planning a short trip this summer, and only planning on MK and Epcot. We did MK and DH this past October. We'll pay for one park day for our family of four (30 days before/staying off site) and will get comp tickets through a time share visit for the second park. Which park would be easier to navigate without having fast passes set up 30 days in advance in mid June??

Of course, we all loved MK and the kids want to go on their favorites again. But, they are excited about Epcot too- soarin, test track.

Alternately, we could pay for the two park days in advance so that we have fast passes for both parks and then use comp tickets for universal. Any helpful tips?? Thank you

I'd probably FP+ MK simply because Epcot has tiers for FP+ and you could only FP+ one of the "big" attractions anyway. If you hit Epcot at rope drop, you can hit the three big attractions...you may have to wait some, but you can do it. If you're not interested in FEA, it's even easier...rope drop TT, then head right to Soarin'. You can hit them both within 45 minutes if you're there for rope drop. If you do want to do FEA, I'd do that first, so it'll back you up some, especially in the wait for TT. The other rides in Epcot typically don't need a FP+ anyway...Living with the Land, SE, Mission Space (it's closing for refurb, I forget if it's mid-June), Nemo, Figment, all are easy to get on without FP+.

Yes, you can do Epcot without FPs, But don't plan to tackle the entire park. Soarin is easier to do at Rope Drop now because of the third theatre. TT can be done in the single rider line early in the day also (you didn't say how old your kids are, so don't know if they will single ride or not). Line for Mission Space is not usually terrible. You can always walk the World Showcase and eat fast food around the world, so dining shouldn't be a real issue. You may not get to do the Frozen ride because the wait has been long ever since it opened and I don't know how much time you want to waste in line. Get your favorite rides out of the way early, and then take the WS at a leisurely pace. All that to say I think Epcot could be more easily done without FPs than MK.

Thanks! This is what I was thinking. Kids are 6 and 10. Can they do single rider?

I always book FP for Epcot but never NEED them for all of the attractions I book, because of the tiered system. Get there early and do your "must dos" at rope drop -- Soarin', TT, FEA. Go with the attitude that if you miss it, you miss it. Have fun!

The 10 year old yes, not quite sure about the 6 year old. Someone else will chime in who knows the answer. But you really wouldn't need to do single rider if you're going to do rope drop. Head straight to TT and you can get on without a long wait and everyone can ride together. Then go to Soarin'. The third theater at Soarin' has helped wait times a lot. If you rope drop TT, the line at Soarin' should still be short.

If you're doing to do FEA, that will change things some. You have to prioritize those three rides as to which one you want the most, and which one you could do without if you had to.

Yes, for us EP is always a full day park. There is so much to do!

The 6-year old will not be able to do single rider for TT. You have to be at least 7 years old to ride alone at WDW. If you go without FP, I would plan on RD FEA, head to TT and then go to Soarin'. Be prepared for long waits. Since you will have tickets day-of, you can always stop at a FP+ kiosk to see if anything is available (Spaceship Earth would be good to get a FP+ for and, obviously, any of the tier 1's if they are available).

Personally, I would buy the 2-day WDW ticket and make your FP+ in advance, take the free Uni ticket and then consider buying the express pass for Uni. I think it will cut your wait time down quite a bit.
