I just booked my airfare today and am very excited about my upcoming trip but I do have a few questions.

I've never been in June and I know its going to be HOT, but does it rain alot?
We will be there the 5 -12th.

I just called and got my first choice for seatings at Chef Mickey's, Cape May
Buffet and O'hana's. No problem at all. I was figuring it would be a very crowded time of year. Is it?

Thanks for all of your help. Now if we could get some kind of code to come out. :wizard:

It does rain a lot but mostly quick showers in the late afternoon. We were there last June, but more toward the middle of the month. It was hot/humid and did rain almost every day but only for a little while!! Bring ponchos with you each day and you should be fine.

As far as crowds go....the southern schools are out by then, so the crowds are starting to build up but they shouldn't be too bad then. Every week-end past Memorial Day brings more people.

I think some people on this board get a little too worked up over ADRs. Sure, Hoop-de-do and the Cinderella castle breakfast sell out quickly, but you're probably fine everywhere else up until a month ahead of time. This doesn't mean that it won't be crowded, it just means that the average visitor doesn't go crazy about ADRs like most DISers do.

As to the crowds- we're going 1st week of June too. We've been that week before, with great success (both crowds and weather were fine). I think it's the most variable week of the year- June can be very rainy, so you may get rained out, or it may be dry and extremely hot. Crowds, as previous poster mentioned, may not be too bad- there's usually a dip in crowds between Memorial Day and the 2nd week of June. However, local school situations, etc. may change that.

Personally, I think the odds are pretty good that we'll all have great trips!

Hey - We are also there June 5th through the 12th. We are staying at CBR, then onto HRH June 12-17. We have been going this time of the year a/c school. It is hot and it usually rains in the afternoon alittle bit. We have never been rained out before. The crowds haven't bothered us. No problems! Enjoy!

This is all great to hear, another June goer here. Keep the June reports coming. :)

We have been the first week of June for 5 of the last 7 years. One thing is for sure...its very hot and humid. Not a big deal to us, but I could see where it would really bother someone not used to it.

As far as crowds, we have had everything from moderately crowded to completely mobbed. Last year was the worst. It was packed at every park every day. We are really hoping it's a little better this year.

It was absolutely necessary to have ADRs if you wanted a sit down meal. This was the first time we have ever had that problem.

As for the rain, on most of our trips we've only had the usual afternoon thunderstorms (maybe one really rainy day out of 12). Last year it rained every day. Really heavy downpours. Normally the rain doesn't bother us and those afternoon showers really help cool things off, but a lot of the time last year was just miserable.

As you can see, last year did not deter us. Ever the optimists, we're headed back same time this year!!!! We figure we've had our one bad trip between crowds and rain!!!!

I don't think I will mind the hot and humid, but I really hope that all the days aren't wash outs, that could be depressing, I don't mind the afternoon passing shower but not totally wash outs. I need to find characters. :)

We were at WDW the 2nd week of June 2002. As I best remember, it was hazy, hot and humid nearly every afternoon. We experienced a T-Storm nearly every afternoon. While it is raining it cools things off and you're happy that it rained. Then the rain stops and the humidty jumps from 90% to 200% (slight exageration). I don't think that I'll ever forget the joke that the weatherman said during his forecast: "There is a 50% chance of thunderstorms today. For those of you who are visiting the area, that means that 50% of you will get wet."

The crowds were pretty heavy. I would not attempt to do WDW in June w/o ADRs. If you do try it, be prepared to eat a lot of counter service food (vs. sit-down meals). Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. We like Cosmic Ray's, The Electric Umbrella and a number of other counter service food locations.

The best thing about going to WDW in June is that the parks open early and close late. We leveraged late hours a few times and slept in the next morning (Note: Sleep in = 8-9am). The biggest problem with getting to the parks late is that crowds have already started to build and FastPasses have longer lead times.

We have gone three times during the first week of June (and are going back for a 10 day trip this June 3-13) and love it. Yes its hot and humid but drink alot of water, wear your sunscreen, get there at opening and go back to the pool mid afternoon for a swim/rest/shower then head out for what we think is one of the greatest part of a summer visit, long park hours with great evening temperatures (no carrying sweatshirts/sweaters) :yay: Last year we were there the first week of June and it rained more than usual, in the past it just pops up a thunderstorm in the heat of the day (seems to me it was around 3 or 4pmish)(when we are resting) and then it cools off a tad making it great for the evening.Last year (when they were predicting a signifcant chance of rain) we had planned a day at Typhoon Lagoon and went ahead with our plans, it was still 84-88 degrees out but cloudy and there was no crowds! :woohoo: It was still comfortable in our bathing suits, not much chance of sunburns, and no waits at all for the slides. We must of rode the new slides (forgot their names, something about an old pineapple factory) a dozen times, just got out of the water and went back up and down agian. We were actually tired of all the climbing/running around by mid afternoon. So my point is there is always an upside to what the weather does,(unless its a hurricane). Crowds at he parks did seem to be on the heavier than normal side (for that time of year) than our past visits, but i think that may have been from several reasons. This past year I did the tour guide mike thing and thought it was worth while. Yes alot of the info is allready on the disboards, but im a planner and liked how he teaches you to think,he does not make an iteniary(SP?) for you but makes you think of crowd patterns/timing.Im sure you'll have a great time no matter what mother nature throws at us and no matter how crowded or uncrowded it is. Enjoy :thumbsup2

I visited in June last year. 2nd - 9th. It rained daily. Almost like clock-work, 9 AM in the morning and 3 PM in the afternoon. It would downpour for about 15 - 20 minutes and sprinkle for another 15. One day, it rained all day long. :umbrella:

It was not crowded when we arrived, but towards the end of our vacation, it was almost unbearable. :crowded:

We'll be at the BCV June 5 - 12 too! We traveled during the same time in 2001 and had afternoon shower a couple of times, but it didn't affect any of our plans. Actually, there was a good little shower one night before Wishes and people poured out of the MK leaving our family plenty of prime viewing spots! :umbrella:

I'm with you on this one. I don't mind the showers here and there. But treading through the rain more than one full day will be downer. I like :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: !

Thanks for posting this thread-we are also interested in going in June just because it works with the kids' school schedule.

Regarding the crowds-does anyone know if it is anything like the couple of days right before Easter? We have only been to disney the week before Easter and in August. We found that the closer we go to Easter, it was unbelieveably crowded and difficult to walk around Magic Kingdom. In August, it wasn't so bad.

We couldn't go in April this year because my son has too many AP exams that month. Now, I am wondering if the heat and crowds in June will cause us to postpone a June trip and wait until April next year.

My 80 year old mom is coming with us and doesn't like it too hot.

Any thoughts? thanks, Carolyn :sunny:

We go June 5-12. Prepared for the heat and crowds and rain. Curious about the water parks. Have you ever seen them reach max capacity that time of year and close to additional guests? We plan to tour the parks in the am and hit the water parks in the afternoon for a few hours.

Last year it rained rained rained, but it didn't stop us from enjoying Disney.

I agree. ANY time that you can go, I would say "go."

I've been in June and, though it was miserable-hot, we still managed to have a good time and we laughed about hot sweaty and sticky we got every day. I think that's the only time in my life that, as soon as I stepped out of the shower, I wasn't dry again the rest of the day!

Still, if it meant a trip to Disney with the one I love, I'd be there in second even if I had to wear my winter parka.
