I have been reading these boards for about a year now and have to say they are awesome!!!! This is my first post.

My family, me, DH, DS11, DD8, and DD6 are going to Disney this summer. We can either arrive June 6 (my anniversary) or July 26. Which would be the best time to go? We were there the middle of March 2003 for Spring Break. Are crowds similar to Spring Break Crowds.

DisBoards have made me a Disney-aholic

Hi,
welcome to the boards!
I have been to wdw in July and I had no problem with it. As a matter of fact I liked it better then when we went in May. The parks are open longer and it seems more exciting during peak season...
We are going again this summer, although we will be going in June. I dont think there will be much of a differance between those months. It might be more of a chance for hotter weather in July, or maybe more rain, but I think the crowds are going to be the same.
Unless you go during the 4th of July.:earseek:

We always go in July, in fact the same week you are looking at since our Anniversary is the 30th. We have always had a great time. The crowds are very managable, especially if you go in the morning and leave around lunch when the late comers are coming in. Then you can go back in the evening when others have had enough for the day.

Early June is sooooooo much better than July. Crowds are lower since schools in many parts of the country are not out for the summer yet, it's slightly less hot and there's generally less rain.

We went in early June in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003 (was there on June 6 some of those years) and late July (was there July 26)in 2002. We decided we would never do July again. Then the weekend our APs expired, we took off for a quick trip this past July -- don't regret it but we had torrential rains and extreme heat, just like the year before.

I have been in late June and also in late July/early August. I prefer Late July or early August simply for the lack of crowds. Many schools are poised to re-open and the vacations are ending. The crowds seemed to be thinner than in June. The weather is a factor but it rains almost daily in Florida during the summer anyway. The storms (these are not just showers generally) only last a short time and usually hit around midday. Everything re-opens and the crowds are all gone. Busses are easier to get as well. You can get by without PS's for restaurants many times.

I believe Value Season begins on July 5th, at least for the deluxes, so that may make a difference to you if money is a consideration.
