Next year we are thinking of taking a month to drive from California, visit mom in GA, and stay for about 8 days at BLT, but can't decide on 1st week of June, or 2nd week of July. Don't care about weather, but what's better crowd wise?

Okay what about later in June? Seemed to be not that bad before TSL opened! Just trying to see if we can time it to be in GA with mom for July 4th, because fireworks are much cooler there!!!

We've been for both, in fact we just got back from WDW a few hours ago...were there since June 14th. Crowd wise it makes no real difference between June and July, outside of 4th of July. The only real difference is the tour groups in July.

I was there between June 3rd and the 13th and normally we go then because of lower crowds but I all I can figure out is a lot of people must have thought Toy Story Land would be open because the lowest crowd level we got a 7, all 3 days in Magic Kingdom for example were listed as a 9. It now has me looking at late Jan or early Feb for our next trip in 2021.

We went one in July and never again. The tour groups were terrible. We could not get away from them. They are in all parks, multiple groups.....everywhere.

We have been going mid-June and really love it.

In general if you can go when school is in session, even if just part of the country, that's your better bet. We're from the northeast and we generally get out around June 20th or so, so anytime before that would be better.
Similarly, going in late August, when many of the southern schools are back in session tends to be better with crowds.

I would pick first week of June.

We normally go the 2nd week of June, and the crowds seem to be more manageable. We are in Orlando every 3 yrs during this week, and the weather is anything from unbearably sticky (a few weeks ago) to cool and rainy (6 yrs ago - Universal was dead empty that week). We like this week bc it gives us time for school to be extended for snow days, but it's before most of the NE schools let out. I was still seeing graduation photos from my friends' kids in NY & VA on the drive back to KY.

This year in the second week of June, we managed to get 4th FPs most days we wanted them and the non-FP rides had moderate waits for the most part. I don't think we waited more than 40 min for anything, and it was much less for a lot of the rides. We did not get to ride some of the E-ticket rides (no FOP, no 7DMT) that we were interested in bc we were offsite and just could not get FPs and did not want to wait, but we had a great time and rode absolutely everything else we wanted to ride with no real difficulties. Now, there were kiosks and restaurants that were not open bc it was not peak, but our waits at most places were minimal, and we got same day ressies at times we would normall eat at both Spice Road Table and Rose and Crown.

Definitely first week of June if you can schedule it. Less crowds and better weather.

We just can back from our trip June 5-17 and it was starting to really heat up the last three days and the crowds were starting to get crazy.

Like no wait for Columbia house during lunch the first week to some
crazy 30-40 minute wait for mobile order the last day.... Holy Moly....

What dates did you go in July? We will be there the end of July and I'm hoping they will be gone!

I would choose June - simply because of the summer crowds typically taking off more towards mid to end of June with many schools still being in session until then. Weather probably wouldn't be much different but the crowds would be.

We were there in the middle of July 12-20. They were there full force!

We went one year in late July-early August. July 31-Aug12. The big tour groups were still there in the end of July and the very beginning of August. The later we stayed in August, the big tour groups left and the crowds got better and better.

Weather is generally slightly better, not a huge difference. It did feel less humid to me but that may have been wishful thinking on my part! We went 1st week of June and crowds were very manageable compared to my memories of July trips, although I've read that's really changed in recent years so that July crowds are nowhere near what they used to be. (I usually go in late August/early September which is the worst weather time, IMO.)

I say go in June. There are plenty of schools that are still in session through the third week of June. So that will help with crowds. Plus, you won't have to deal with tour groups in June (it's my understanding that tour groups are pretty abundant in July).
