Which is beeter to vist Universal. It would be the middle of June or the next to the last week of August. I had scheduled the last week of August but my kids now will be back in school??

THanks for you opinions.

Last week of August will be a ghost town. Why? School in Florida starts August 20th everywhere. The state made a new law that says school can't start before August 20th, so that means everyone will go back on that day. The school board kept pushing the starting date back to try and make the quarters have the same number of days. They didn't care that summer break was being pushed into spring time. So the governor stepped in and said no more, you have to start after August 20th.

June will have moderate crowds, but if you could take the kids out of school that last week of August, you'd have an empty park to yourself in the mornings.

July 4th thru August are the busy time of the summer season, that's when the parks stay open until 10pm.

Speaking as a northerner, FL's very hot & sticky in August. June's not much better imo; humidity @ 90 percent last trip:scared1: (still not enough to prevent us from returning this year - lol).

Gotta worry about those pesky storms that might crop up too in august.

good luck:thumbsup2

I was wondering the same question I could go during the middle of August this year or the second week of June 08? What I'm really wanting is the lowest crowds. I do plan on staying on site though.

That is my concern too. Not the heat but the crowds. We were at WDW in August of last year and was not bad. An employee at Animal Kingdom told us that last year was a mild summer

Crowds are very reasonable in late August...If you are staying on-site, you of course will have express access to the rides and the crowd factor is reduced as a concern. If it's a toss-up (and you are staying on-site), I'd go with June since the hurricane risk is somewhat less than late August (indications are that we will have a more active Atlantic hurricane cycle this year).

i have been to both theme parks in june and august.

june 20 time period/ 3rd week and august 25 time period.

i found that the august time period was less crowded at universal which made it a very relaxing trip.

i grew up in the st louis area, heat and humidity so the weather in florida did not faze me.

if we are voting, i vote for august. less families there at that time, less crowds, less rain......and better air fare.
