We will be going the last week of June first week of July . How will the weather and the lines be then?

From the second or so week in June until mid August you can expect pretty large crowds each day. The weather will be mostly hot with afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The rain ususally dosen't last too long so don't worry about that. The best strategy is to get to a park very early and get out before noon when it starts getting hot and really crowded. We have done this and it works very well. Take a hotel break and then go to another park later in the day. Take advantage of EMH and Fast Passes. Make sure everyone drinks water. It's easy to get dehydrated in the Florida heat so DRINK and try to stay out of the sun.
We have done June two times (due to DS school schedule) and we have had wonderful times. Just plan ahead and you will have a great time!

I am glad to hear a positive answer to your question. Everyone I have told that I was going then just looks and me and thinks I am crazy. But with DS school schedule and Cub scout camp this was when we were able to go. I am looking forward to it and keeping hydrated and sunblock on to me is just common sense. I hope you have a wonderful time!!!

It will be very crowded with long lines much of the day. Except for the first few days of your trip, you will be in the July 4 crowd time -- the third most crowded period of the year (Christmas and Easter time are the first two) and significantly more crowded than other summer weeks. Worse times of day in any park are about 10:30 to 3. Early morning, and late afternoon to early evening, are usually the lighter times of day (and that is relative as it will still be crowded). On July 4, MK is likely to reach capacity. Weather will be hot (mid-90's and it stays very warm and humid at night). Usually two to four 30 minute or so thunderstorms a day from the afternoon to night, although you can sometimes get sustained rains lasting hours.

I'm also going in July (18-25) so I'm glad to hear some positive responses as well. The last time we went, 3 yrs ago, it was April or May, and the weather was PERFECT with hardly any lines. We never waited more than 20 min for anything. I know it will be much different this time, but I'm looking forward to our trip and will stay positive about the heat and the lines.

Look for me at DQ June 25 and MGM June 26 :wave2:

We will be there, too, from June 26th to July 8th. We are going the week after Easter (2 more weeks to go!) and I'm hoping to get the "feel" of how to handle our itinerary from this trip. Call me crazy, but my kids are in high school, and I won't take them out anymore. I'm hoping to see whether avoiding the EMH parks is the way to go, since that's what we are doing this coming trip (Easter Sunday thru Friday). The only EMH we might do is MK late night on Wed.---at least, that's my plan right now.

We will be there June 27- July 3 I am thinking of canceling due to the long lines and the weather being so hot . Is it really that bad? My kids ar 15 and 12 and we live in Tennessee so we are use to the hot weather but I know its different there.

WDW is very doable with teenagers in the summer. We have worn ponchos in the rain and enjoyed the park. Not sure that I would think it was fun with little ones in a stroller though.

Take extra pairs of shoes, as your shoes will not dry out over night.

I went with my parents in mid-July '00 to help them with my three nieces ages 5, 8 and 10. My then 56 yr old mom had just finished chemo for breast cancer (she's still doing great), so she was bald AND she is allergic to the sun (gets hives). My then 61 yr old dad was three months out from a triple bypass. They had been looking forward to taking grandkids to WDW forever. When the cancer happened mom and dad decided to not wait any longer.

The point of this is that it was HOT/HUMID and they were not in the best shape, but we had a BLAST. After lunch we went back to the Hotel (CR). I took the kiddos swimming while mom and dad took a nap and showered. We then headed out to the parks for the evening.

To celebrate their 40th wedding anniverversary, they are taking the entire family of 15 to WDW ----- IN MID-JULY. Its when we can all go and its still soooooo fun. Just be smart: Rest in afternoon, Lots of Water, FastPasses and REMEMBER TO ENJOY NOT STRESS. Life is too short, go when it works for you and yours!

Yes, it will be HOT. But many people do it every year and come out OK!
Just plan your days and you will be fine. Absolutely do the EMH morning to get on favorite rides with little wait and before it gets too hot. We do this and leave the park before the noontime heat and crowds. Evening EMH should be better because the sun will not be a factor. From what I have read, it's pretty crowded earlier during the evening EMH but the crowds drop later. You can always get there after it starts and enjoy until the end. Just be prepared, plan, drink water, stay out of the sun, use sunscreen. We did it two times in June and had wonderful times.

ps....grab FP as soon as you can. Between the shorter lines earlier in the day and FP you can get on a LOT of rides before it gets too crowded.

I just want to say that two summers ago we went in July, and the AK EMH was VERY crowded! We arrived a little later than I had hoped, but I would seriously reconsider doing the EMH in the mornings unless you plan on getting there well before it starts!

We have always gone peak season and have learned to deal with it. Fastpass and EMH have made a world of difference. I love the heat and I love to keep going. If you keep the right frame of mind, it can be the best time to go. All of the above suggestions are great, especially the afternoon breaks. Look for me from June 23-30th on the Boardwalk (DVC members at home). :jumping1:
