Yes cold by the weekend but still snowless.
I saw a report that our city has saved 265,000 with no salt and overtime. Saves our roads too. That though hurts the economy too though I know down the line.

I think I will like our gas bill though

I am taking a CPR class tomorrow

Here in Illinois, we don't worry about the roads or cost. We just build another tollway or raise the prices again.......

Toll increases were HUGE!!! WOW!! basically double at each toll...paying cash would be 10 bucks to Naperville now and that's not even all the way for us...1/2 the cost with the IPass. Insanity.

They have been taking cues from buffet increases at WDW!

MKY - congrats on being in the 50s! I am missing the planning for a March trip this year. May is still 117 days away for us.

EE22 - I think you are right! When tolls cost as much as the gas you have to wonder.

We bought a new (to us) car on the weekend. It is a 2011 Malibu 2LT. It has the heated seats and remote starter that I wanted. But I must admit.. I will miss the Grand Am GT. I went from a Mustang to the Grand Ams when we had our first daughter and now I won't even have a "Sports Sedan", just an ordinary "Sedan".

Once these darn kids are off on their own, I am going back to the sport cars.

EE22 - Nice! If we were a two car family, I would have a sports car but since we are a one car family, I can't really do it.

Your right about the buffet's. I have no clue how a family can afford it without the dining plans.

That is true MKY.

I can't remember the last time we did not go away for a winter break. It must be back in the early 2000s. We use to go the first week in February because it was ssoooo much cheaper than March. But once the kids started to get older, we changed to March break.

we are seriously considering fall of 2013.

Fall is really nice at wdw. They started mnsshp so early last year [early sept] so you can go even when its still warm [if possible with ?] Or I think they lasted till a week after halloween? I thought you had to use some points every year or can you pull them all through till then?
The weather is great. Barely rains, and not bad for bugs either.
But, you will have to start thinking of your costume????

With the trip to DL we don't have that many left from when I got them in Dec, but we can bank a year. I don't have to do that till July so it gives me some time to figure out if we can venture down in Dec 2012.

Planning on fall 2013 for sure...I can only get two days...around Labor Day would be nice, but I don't think the parties started that early.

We have to move DD in over Labor day...and I checked the dates and they are mid September. We shall see what works. It's not for another year anyway. But if we cannot go over winter break in 2012 maybe we'll do that this fall. Who knows!! I can only go for 2 days for MNSSHP.

We could never afford a room over winter break...the points are not too many more than summer actually which is nice. I am not sure how long the rooms will be available however for that timeframe!

Hiya everyone!

Hope your all having a great weekend. AP discounts came out till mid june. So very glad I up'd my date by 1 day and jumped on the last ap offer.
This new one was really limited offerings and not much off it seemed. I have 1 day over "my" 14 days so I had 1 day at rack and with new discount saved 30.00 on the whole day. Really not much for those prices.
But, I am lucky we did so well with the early, so not going to sweat it.

Anyone needing the ap rate up to mid june its online. But, I thought you guys where going later?

I have been planning a trip now for end of june > july. But it's not for us. Just helping someone.

We had the first snow fall that needed a shovel. Still not very much snow but it has stayed so far.

I picked up my new car on Saturday.....must say how much I love those heated seats! I am going to miss having the 6 cylinders though. The car does not have as much power as I am use to.

Now comes the work of getting the old car safetied (in Canada a car has to pass a safety inspection before you can drive it) and get rid of it. It looks like my neice is going to take it.

EXCLLENT MKY!!!!

My longing for a Disney trip is getting so bad that I had a very realistic dream that they had built another MK in Iowa. Not sure how that would be with below zero temps now, but it was so real and life like!! So close too!!
