We got home around 8:45 PM tonight. We got stuck in a HUGE traffic jam in Macon (of all places!).

Yes, I got to meet EE22 while we were there!!! That was super-cool! :thumbsup2 I recognized her right off the bat from the pics. And, yes, can you believe we forgot to take our pic together!!! DUH! That struck me as we were leaving .......

I've made tons of notes & plan to start a trip report soon ...... first I have to unpack!

TOM@SSR - Have a GREAT trip!!! I know you will!!!

MKY - Are you packing???

I'll catch up reading later - it's bedtime here folks ...... :grouphug:

Welcome home. Although I am sure you are not happy to be there. I guess you can get started planning your next trip. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read your trip report. I hope you had a great trip.

Welcome Home!!!!
even though it's horrible to leave WDW, it is nice to get home!
DD and I went to a play today in the Amanas. We saw a tractor again on the way home :rotfl2: Orlando it's not.

Sorry about your traffic jam!

Maybe DS could make a picture of us together since we forgot to take one :lmao: he's pretty handy with stuff :smooth:

Evening everyone!

I actually got some stuff done this weekend! Yeah! I have tried to get suitcases down for weeks, and did today. Went through the last of my clothes to figure out and donate out-sized ;) clothes. So the last thing that needs to be checked out is my video camera. I have not touched it in 2yrs. Since our disneycruise. Will see if it is still in working order & what I need. Have only used it once, so hopefully that is fine. :thumbsup2
And I so far cannot find my rain nylon jacket that folds up. I put it somewhere after our last trip, so I will have it. :confused3

Also while in attic I went through the halloween costumes, and pulled out our matching Pooh & Eeyore set, Raggedy Annie, and Sis's Cruella outfit. Would love to wear the Minnie dress I have but, doesn't look to hot on. :confused3 Ok, on the hanger. :sad2:  Oh, well. Don't want to be dragging too much to disney in October. We did plan and buy 4 parties thou. :rolleyes1 I have really enjoyed MNSSHP and MVMCP in the past, that is why so many.

I can't wait to start reading the trip reports! EE22 > looks like your computer is working, Your last set of pictures where great! Were some of them from that picture service at disney. photopass? Or did you get them on site after the rides?

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Mky princess:

Mouseaddict's Sorry I missed your post above! Welcome home. Sounds like you must of had a great trip. How many hours is it back and forth from your house to wdw? Can you make a long weekend out of it? I would be broke all the time, if I lived in a one day drive to wdw. :confused3 But very happy! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you took 75 up from wdw? We have drove it from Northern Illinois. 57south and pick up 75 in Nashville? I think there is a 24 in there somewhere too. Takes almost 24 hrs. But the speed limit is higher in the south! :teeth: Up here 65 is the high limit. If your lucky. But right now all roads major highways are under construction, and really a mess. So its more like 25. Anyway, great to have you back! Missed your notes.

Warning EEyorelover22 > heavy construction going to chicago. If your picking up 55 north, from 80 it is a mess. Sorry. Just try to get here at an off time, and you might get lucky.

mky princess:

EE22: Love the new set of pictures. I would love to see pictures that your son doctors up. That would be really neat.

MK: Your about 2 weeks ahead of me right? We leave in 5 weeks so I am trying to control my urge to take down the luggage for another week at least. I know once it is out I will start loading it and if there is room I will pack MORE stuff.

mky princess:

Is there any other way? I think mapquest didn't send me over on I-80. What's an off time on a Friday???

I hate the big city :sad2:
DH will not be happy.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Mky princess:

Our computer has been off again on again since last Friday. They are coming today to look at it. It might be the modem. DH did go to work and buy a dial up service. He should have had it for back up anyway with his website work. Seems great one day and not the next. Last night when I came home it was working so I did the pictures fast and bought our tickets for 6 flags and read up on the park. They have a "fast pass" thing, but we'd have to buy it. I think I'll invest in it. Life's too short to have cranky children in lines. I won't ride the big coasters anyway.

The pics were ride photos. Our photopass pics weren't anything special this year from what I took and the add ons are sub standard from last year as well. I'm not impressed and I'm glad I didn't pay for the CD.

Do you like the one of me on Tower of Terror?

We always buy the ride photos. Great keepsake. We didn't buy Dino since DH's had was in DD's face. We gave him what for too!!

I have to figure out how far Joliet is from here to know what time we should leave.

:cool1: I just got my Magical Express Paperwork. How exciting! I am doing much better this year than last with packing. At this point last year I had all my bags packed already.

Now my question is, when will I get my travel documents with info on the meal plan? I really thought I would get that first. :confused3

Anyway, still happy we got our Magical Express stuff. :cheer2:

EE22: We leave on August 15. I still have not even registered with ME because we are flying SW and I am not thrilled with our flights. I am holding out hope that we can get there a bit earlier and can take the last flight out instead of at 3:00pm.

Good luck getting to Six Flags. Sounds like you may have your work cut out for you getting there with the road contruction. Last year we took a road trip to Virginia and there was road contruction, it took us 4 hours to go 2 miles. :sad2: I am not kidding either. We go through the whole thing and they were not even working that day. They just left all the bulldozers and cones in the road from their last shift. Very frustrating. I hope your family has better luck. You will enjoy your self once you get there.

EE22,
The new code is not in my time frame, for October. But we should be in the next set. :) (hopefully, there will be an next set).
Bad driving time around here is anywhere from 5:30am >to 9am? and then reverse's a bout 4pm > to 7:30pm? M>F. Friday nite for some reason either direction after 2:30pm is terrible all nite. :confused3 And this is mostly, just the suburb's downtown chicago is not great, but not this bad. ;)

TP2, Wow, You got some of your paperwork! I know I would be packing for that. :thumbsup2 We are about 2 weeks before you. I have soooooo much stuff on my floor now, don't think i could come up with much more. And watch for some really nice weather in a day or 2. It has been sunny and really nice here all weekend and today. :sunny:

Mouseaddict's hope you have recovered a little of your sleep, and let those feet rest.

Happy Planning! mky princess:

For those of you that have been down, did you fake bake? (Pretan) with working full time, I am about as pale as i can. :confused3 Am worried a bit about burning up, just even walking around. Still have a few weeks, if I should, we have the last few times we went. But have been holding off so far this year. What do you reccommend?

Happy Planning! mky princess:

MKY: You must have gotten all of your paperwork already too. It is really an exciting day when that happens. I am so trying to not overpack. So far we are NOT packing car seats, life jackets, portable DVD player, food, pants, sweatshirts, and beach towels. I am also going to limit the number of shoes. It should really help on the way home when ME does not take our luggage to the gate for us.

TP2, I don't get any paperwork. :confused3 Guess that is what I get for going ala carte'. Booked, air, car, & room only (ap). So aside from getting my ressies I don't have anything I didn't print off the computer. :surfweb: Just tooooooooo independent. We have to have a car. I don't want to be looking for ME @ 10pm at nite or later if delayed? I actually got a pretty good suv rate, and just as cheap, getting at airport. But we will let ME take our luggage back, that is why I am flying American Airlines. ;) you can also weigh your luggage right there at the stand at the poly, and re-distrubate the weight to keep it all under 50#. :)
mky princess:

TP2: You'll be leaving about when I return to work
Now, I will be able to remember!

I think we are going to try the different route to 6 Flags. 88 and we can pick it up just east of the Mississippi.

MKY: It's 4 lane right? just a toll road? I can't tell from my map. Hope so. We can avoid 55 that.

I know all about traffic jams. I got stuck in that same area years ago with the kids (4 and 6), alone, driving a stick. 5 hours to drive 4 miles. I left Iowa at 5 am and arrived to my mom's place at 8 pm that night. I was less than thrilled that's for sure.

My bro has is worse than we do. He has all the bad stops and even has traffic to deal with Friday morning when they leave the Detroit traffic on 94. So, I'll take the easy part till we hit the outside of Chi Town.

I sure don't miss the big city that's for darn sure. I should sent you our pics from visiting the Amanas yesterday. Corn as far as the eye can see :rotfl:

EE22: Thats right. Now I remember you going back to work the day I leave. We don't go back until after Labor Day weekend. We also were in school until June 23 and that was a week earlier than last year.

I am glad you found another route, kids or no kids, it is no fun to sit in traffic.

MKY: I forgot you booked it all seperate. Last year we did that but still took ME. I didn't realize that you are not taking ME either.

I actually go back on the 16th, but I'll already be back way before that. I have to put my room back together. I also have to keep working on my bulletin board too. I think I need letters. I don't know where my big PINK ones are anymore. Sometimes it's less stress and time saved to buy some new ones :confused3

We do get our earlier that's for sure. I hope it's not as hot as last fall. It was probably the worse since I've been in my room with no air. It stayed warm till mid Sept last year and I mean in the low 90's. Not fun. Usually it's only a week or so and it starts to cool off.

EE22 :teacher: , 88= is 4 lane toll road up here. Haven't taken it any farther south than aurora. So not sure of the whole thing. They are redoing a bunch of the toll plaza's on a few of the highways up here. So that might be your only problem? If you need gas make sure to stop at the overpass on 294 for ohare. It will be shortly after you get on 294. It is one of the better ones. And you can eat something watching the planes. ;) Crossing over 294. Your brother, I would go North. :lmao: Up through michigan, and cross over the *****ula to michigan / wisconsin and then to Illinois. :rotfl: He is really gonna suffer just to see his Sis! :cloud9: I hope he does ok. Don't tell him you are going the easy way. ;) Great pictures today! Do you live on a farm? Your room is sooooooooo decorated for school. Looks like my disney bedroom. But I lean towards Mickey & Simba. :) You did a great job. Eeyore would love it.

TP2 :bride: , I have to have a car. It's the shopper in me. :rolleyes1 We like to hit all the malls. I really don't care for the buses either. I am very short (5'1") and cannot reach the bar on the ceiling to hold on to. I always get the spot that, that is the only thing to hold on to. Also I always feel like I should give up my seat, for the older, or people with kids, etc.. . So I like to drive to E, MgM, & AK. Guess it is the nurse in me, have to be in control. Now if the bus is right there as we are walking to the car, we might hop on? I also like to snack popcorn:: And will have the car, out at AK, stop by the MickeyD's on the way back to the resort. You can only eat so many disney fine meals or burgers. As sis says without a proper junk food stop. Right now 1 have a mid sized suv with alamo 18 days for 375.00 and national same thing for about 50.00 more. But national, I don't have to do the counter. So I might eat the 50.00 bucks, and get out of there. Of course, its murphy's law. If we keep alamo, the line will be 2 hours, if i give it up, the counter would of been empty? We are landing about 10pm est. So I know nephew will be wore out, and anxious, thinking i don't want to start off in line. What do you guys think? Which would you choose? (actual planning question) :thumbsup2 .

Have a great day. It rained here this am, and again I was cancelled and am now on call. I like the cancel part not the on call. So thinking what I should do. Have to stay home, washed and ready to go, :surfweb: Yeap, looks like not much else. popcorn:: mky princess:
