June HOJO Entertainment Rate?

We are planning to get to DL on May 31 and stay through Jun 6 or 7, 2010. We have ressies at the Staybridge Suites, but its a little more expensive than we'd like. I have often read about people getting great 'entertainment' rates at the HoJo, but I've never really know what that means. Can someone please let me in on this? What's a good rate? How do you get it?

They just came out with March and April maybe a month ago. I'd say no more than 4-5 months before. The dates are based on how booked they are on any particular day.

When I was booking for my June stay, they didn't come out with rates for some days of my trip until the day I left for DL. That has often been my experience with Hojo. If they anticipate high demand the rates will be locked up until people start cancelling existing ressies (48 hour cancellation notice)and then it opens up. So I guess it pays to book ahead, keep checking and then rebook if you get a better price or the Ent rate comes out. And always call the hotel directly if you plan on rebooking through the Ent rates. I heard that on several peoples' trips they were literally at the hotel when they checked online and found that the first day of their stay was discounted at the Ent rate. They then asked for and received the discount after the fact. I wouldn't bank on that though. It's better to know ahead of time before you check in if they have changed the rates.
