Hello :)

I have booked to stay at the holiday inn in walt disney world resort (LBV) :dance3:and have just read that the disney parks are going to be super super busy and am now getting concerned.:headache: I don't mind it being busy (I went in april/may last year so I always knew it would be busier come June) but I'm not getting worried we will be struggling to get on the rides at all? Is this the case? I don't mind queing but would like to get on the rides at some point.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't say fatal error at all going to DW can never be that... It will be very busy and certainly hotter than you have been used too but don't worry plan your days and hit parks early rather than later and your be fine....

We went in June last year and are there again at the same time this year. Your dates in June will make a big difference the first week is quiet as local schools won't have broken up but towards the end of June more schools have started their summer break and the parks get noticeably more crowded.

There are lots of things you can do to cope with higher crowd levels. Get there early, hit the most popular rides first and collect Fastpasses for any you want to ride later. Save the less popular attractions for later in the day or go and chill out at your resort in the afternoons when parks are busiest and come back to enjoy the cooler and less crowded evenings.

When in June are you there? The end of June is the worst. I was worried I'd made a fatal error too with the first half of June, the last couple of days of our trip shows very high crowd levels.

The main error I now see with June is that both TT and BTMR are likely to be closed... Honestly, if I'd known that, I'd have gone another time.

Yes, but just remember to come back timely.
In WDW they are going to enforce the time window written on the fast pass. Currently (the first days of the new policy) they let people in late like they always did in the past, but I think that in June they'll probably enforce it.
There is only a 15 minutes of grace period.

I'm headed from the 24th June til 8th July! Probably sounds like a nightmare time to go for some, but I'm determined not to let the crowds get to me and just enjoy the atmosphere! There's no other way to do it!

No you haven't made a mistake because you have already done some research and know that its prob going tobe busy when you are there. As long as you do your planning (do rope drop, fast pass and extra magic hours) and a bit more research into what you should expect re the whether etc you will be fine. Lets face it...its never a mistake to be at WDW! We went the last two weeks of June and came back 5th July one year...yes it was busy and as the 4th July came near the parks were VERY packed and yes it rained everyday, but only for about 1 hour at a go, but we still managed to do everything we wanted..:)

Thanks guys. You have made me feel so much better. This is only my second disney visit and I adored it last time!

Whats TT and BTMR ? I'm also not sure what rope drop means. I don't think we'll be allowed to do the extra disney hours since we're not in a disney hotel.
Im there from the 15th - 29th so I'm expected the 2nd week to be busier than the first.
So it's prob best to do all the big rides earlier and collect fast pass as we go along? What sort of heat should we expect?
Also, to get to Universal, do we catch the bus from MK? We caught a bus there to sea world

TT is Test Track
BTMR is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Rope drop is basically just being at the park for its opening
At the time of year you are going it is very hot but its the humidity thats the energy sapper. Its always a good thing to get to the parks for the rope drop and leave by mid-day ish and come back later when the sun has gone down and its a tad cooler, but even in the late evenings at that time of year its still hot. You will often get rain at some point in the day but it normally goes away very quickly so be prepared for that because when it rains it really rains!!!
You can catch a lynx bus to Universal but its not straight forward and you will need to transfer and it takes a long time to get there. You will be far better off catching a taxi or maybe seeing if the mears shuttle goes from your resort. Sometimes the hotels off the WDW resort have shuttles to Universal/IOA. You can still catch the bus to Seaworld from Downtown Disney outside the Hilton Hotel and from the TTC (ticket and transportation centre):)

Don't panic! Touring plans has the crowds between 6 & 8 for those weeks. Honestly, having just done a week were the crowds were all 10s and still got on everything we wanted to you will be fine.

Be at the parks at least 15 mins prefabably 30 mins prior to opening, hit the rides that build crowds first and use Fastpass where you can.

Use the afternoon to enjoy som pool/down time and head back in the evening :goodvibes

Weather will be in the 90s with a high chance of a storm in the afternoon.

We are going 16-29 June although we are doing 5 nights on the dream :goodvibes

Thanks so much. We are early risers so being there early won't be an issue. We can do our sunbathing in the day as we normally head back home to get changed for the evening and rest. I consider myself to be quite fit but disney really takes it out of me! Is it just as busy in the evenings at these times or does is slow off slightly. Shame about those rides. I'm pleased we rode those last year.
I think I might try and calculate the cost of the taxis prior to our visit. We are in lake beuna vista. I'm not sure if its worth buying the unlimited universal tickets if we will need to taxi there as not sure it will be too expensive for us to get there more than twice.
I understand my wording is completely wrong. Even at its busiest! How can WDW be an error :goodvibes I grew up with disney and my first visit was at 24. I think I shall be a frequent visiter from now. I'm hooked :cool1:

Where in LBV are you staying? :goodvibes

We are at the Holiday inn Walt Disney World. :thumbsup2

Seem's to have good reviews. :goodvibes

We stayed at the Hilton in LBV last year and it was amazing although quite costly so not something we could do every year.
I just love everything about disney. I had a tear in my eye when I saw the castle for the first time!

June just can't come quick enough!

We stayed at th HI @ WDW in Feb & it was lovely, all the staff were so friendly, big rooms very, very clean & so quiet. Sure you will have a lovely stay.

The Mears website has a taxi fare calculator which may help you - see here.
