June crowds

So- looking at dates for next year’s trip to Disney World. We’ve been several times and I’ve noticed over the years of planning that the first week of June generally has crowds predicted as higher than the second/third week of June. Touring Plans has crowds the first week as 7s and 8s with some parks being at 9 on some days. The next week is overall 6s with some parks being 5s.
I know this is a numbers game and guessing game~ and crowd calendars are more iffy because of FP+ and magic bands~ but my question is~ has anyone found the first week of June to be more crowded than the rest of the month? Would it be because kids are getting out of school at the end of May and families are heading down right after school?

Check where Memorial Day weekend falls. That could be making a difference. Sometimes it’s rhe last weekend in May, butting up to the first actual week in June. We have done the first week in June in the past and found it quite nice. I don’t think there are any times left that are crowd free, like in the past, but it definitely wasn’t as busy as New Year’s Eve. But really, I’m happy at WDW anytime.

Crowd calendars have no accuracy value, don't bother with them. Having said that, we haven't been the first week of June, but have been every other week...many times, including this year. My understanding is that the first week is no different than the rest. Southern schools get out in late May, so you'll get vacationing families starting then. However, summer isn't busy at all compared to many other times of the year. This summer was a bit busier than the last two, but still not bad by any stretch.

Crowd calendars aren't worth it. Especially when trying to determine if one week is better than the other. Just need to use some common sense planning:
Avoid holidays, weekends, etc.
Go when you can and prepare for crowds -- it could be super crowded one day and not the next .. just too many unknown factors to calculate.

From the "feel" on these boards --- summer seems less busy than say March/April or October/November now. But you pay for that with the heat/humidity and thunderstorms (and lack of special festivals or parties).

I am actually trying to help my sister's family decide between March (their Spring Break) or the summer. I am almost tempted to tell them summer, but fear (as northerners) may be miserable in the heat and humidity.

Yup, June is the ramp up month. Some schools in the south get out by (Atlanta for example) Memorial Day. SC schools near us have the last day of school as the Friday after Memorial Day. NC has a state law that school must end by the Friday closest to June 11th. That meant June 8th this year, and for most schools June 7th next year...

Believe me, it make it fun attempting to schedule a family reunion...

We went in late June 2017 and then to DL in Oct 2017 and these were our first trips in a while. Looking back at the TP crowd calendars, most days in WDW were rated 6-8 when we were there and our DL days were rated 9-10. I could definitely tell the difference in crowds and non-FP wait times. I'd say June is a good time to visit WDW if you're okay with the heat, plan ahead with FPs and use rope drop and ride order to your advantage. Have fun!

Thanks guys! We’ve been in June twice before- but it was the second/third week. I’m prepared for the heat (as prepared as you can be) and those afternoon thunderstorms actually help as long as they come and go quickly. Spring isn’t an option anymore~ with one child in college and the other in high school~ we’re kind of forced into either the holidays (which we’ve done) or summer~ plus this is my son’s graduation trip~ so summer it is this time!
Thanks for the advice! Considering the first week of June since it would be closer to my son’s graduation (not going the week after bc of Memorial Day) and my daughter’s 20th birthday is June 1 and well~ how cool would that be for her?
