June closing & 2 month availability

Hello. If everything goes smooth with our resale contract, we will be closing late June. Assuming I have access to my points in early July, what kind of availability will I likely have for our September trip. We are going the 4-12, before F&W and before MNNSHPs start. I know it's impossible to know for sure, but where do you think we might be able to book, and what room type? Just trying to manage my expectations. Thanks!!

This is not a typical situation and should not be a new or potential member's expectation.

2 months out most resorts are limited availability. Early September is low season so yes, your chances are better. But generally be prepared to have to piece together your reservation slowly with the use of waitlists. SSR does indeed tend to almost always have availability. There's also potential at OKW or AKV.

I also think you will have a very good chance for those dates - it's probably the slowest DVC time of the year. Most likely you will get the entire time at SSR in a 1BR with a possibility of a studio. Also likely to get a 1BR at AKV (Kidani) and maybe OKW and if you are looking for a split stay you may have a few other options. If you're looking for a 2BR then SSR and maybe OKW or Kidani.

None of us will guarantee any of this though!

I'll be happy with anywhere, as long as I can utilize some of these points. We are currently booked at YC, so if all else fails, at least we'll have a place to rest our heads

I was wondering my odds of booking something late September! I'm not too picky on where we stay or if we have to piece together two different resorts for that week. Yes! Our boats are very similar! Our youngest is turning one next month. I feel like you do, in that I don't mind changing resorts once, as we'll be there for nine days. Any more than that, and I might have to bank the points and go with our original reservation. I'd love to save the money, but won't be too terribly upset because we've never stayed at YC, and the kids are excited about the pool. It'll be exciting for us to see what we can find on such short notice!

By late September you run into the food and wine festival that makes booking much harder but you have a decent possibility of a SSR 1 bedroom as long as your trip doesn't drift into an October weekend- weekends during food and wine have been getting busier and busier and many of them have a day gone everywhere by 5-6 months out. If you close the end of June you are looking at mid July by the time you have your points, and that is only if you are successful at getting your member number over the phone.

Thank you! We are looking at Sept 20 thru 26. I think Food and Wine starts the weekend we leave. Fingers crossed!! I already made my dining reservations at 6 months out....really hoping we get that week so we can keep our reservations!
