I just rebooked our $400 5 day car rental rate and am now paying 170.00! It is a midsize car through thrifty. Booked on Hotwire.

Not surprised. Expect the rental companies to work themselves out of the issues they had and prices will begin to stabilize.

Thanks for posting this because mine are still sky high for December! Makes me think they will come
