We're planning a trip to WDW next summer in either June or August. We realize both months will be busier than other months and both are in hurricane season. We'd appreciate any input from people who vacationed in either of these months with pros/cons/tips for either month. For example, are crowds less at the beginning to middle of June or the end of August, etc. Thanks!

On crowds: the last two weeks of June and the first two weeks of August will be much more crowded than the beginning of June and end of August.

August usually has more hurricanes than June, but in general, hurricanes do not have a major impact on WDW, no matter what month.

The last two years WDW has announced free dining effective mid-August, so that's another plus. But there's no guarantee it will be back in 2007.

In either month, be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms almost every day that will last between 15 minutes and a couple of hours, but will do nothing to cool things off.

we like the first 2 weeks of June more than August. While its hot in June, August is almost unbearable hot. The only way I would go back in August would be free dining. The crowds don't seem as bad in June. Our anniversay is June 10, so thats usually the time that we are there.

Anytime you are traveling during the peak or holiday seasons, you will will want a good touring plan that also helps you plan which day you will be in which park. They really do make a huge difference. The three I've used are The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, which is a thick book. www.tourguidemike.com is an online subscription service that is also very good. There is a ton of information and it is overwelming at first but it really does enable to you do develop a very good touring plan. www.buildabettermousetrip.com does custom touring plans for you and will make your dining reservations. I thought they were reasonably priced and they do a good job.

I've only been to WDW once, and that was the second week of August. It was hot, but I live in the South and am used to going to theme parks in the blazing summer. The only park that I recall being bad (as far as the heat) was AK. If you get to the parks early, use your fastpasses, and stay hydrated, you should be fine.

On second thought, maybe June would be better. ;)

We were at Disney the last 2 weeks of August.
If you can can the heat (we like it) then you wil be o.k.
The crowds were low which was great!

We went late June and found that it was hot, but there are lots of places to go inside and cool off. We also found it was busy, but not unbearable, except for the day we accidentally went to MK on a resort early entry day. We stay off site, so we couldn't take advantage of the early entry. It was crazy in the MK all day. We should have hopped to another park. We went back to the MK another day and didn't have to wait in a single line!

we have only gone 1 time, first week in june. it was hot and CROWDED...................didnt know about the crowds in june. i would never ever go then again. we always end up going in aug. a couple of times around the 15ish, and then usually near thevery end. couple of times through labor day week end. yep..............its very hot , hot,hot..........but we realize that before we go, thats the only times we have been able to go. also , depending whats going on,like the summer of the fairy tail pkg we noticed it was busier and crazier than the summer before. so , we still go, take it slow and take a break during the day.

June and August are our usual travel months, we do either one or the other because the kids have school and we don't take them out.

August - 3rd or 4th week are the best and that is when we would go. It is hot, but the crowds are lower than June. Just realize though that for us it is also very hot in NJ in August and I have had all summer to get used to it. You'd be surprised how many areas in WDW are air conditioned and we never had a problem.

June - We would usually go the 3rd/4th week also and that is what we will be doing in 2007. A little more crowded, but with proper use of FastPass, you should be ok.
