June 5,2010 Relocation Cruise

The entire city (Cincinati) got involved with the Pigs Fly weekend. The Pasta "pigout" Sat. night had a band playing and a decent pasta meal. Race day it rained on and off for the whole race. The "finish swine" was a welcome sight. Carolyn doen't think she can do the Denver race, air too thin, we are sealevel creatures!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Alex

The mantra of the bolder boulder race is sealeavel is for sissies :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi Karen, welcome aboard!
I was a cast member in the Disney Store in Meadowhall(Sheffield) for seven years but left a few years ago. I actually really miss it - I think thats why every holiday I take revolves around "The Mouse!":earsboy: and why my house has more Mickeys than the Disney Store:mickeyjum good job I have a very understanding (or is that long suffering:rotfl:)husband.
I'm sure it's not too late to join in the FE just PM your details to Yensid1222
Julie

i managed to "convert" my DH to disney, but it didnt take too much convincing!!
i'm down south at disney, lakeside shopping centre in essex, loving it there!

I am working on door magnets. I have no room numbers or names for the following disers:

Belle1903
Hyperone
Minnieme1
quashquiqueen
smiling mouse
Tammy Alphabet
Tink lives with me
desparately disney
it398

If you would like a door magnet, please post or PM me with cabin number and/or names. I can not deliver the magnet without a cabin number. Alex

That's really lovely of you to do Door magnets. We're room 2554 by the way.
I still haven't made a start on my Fish Extender. How hopeless am I?:confused:I
I think I will be cheating. I saw some wall hanging storage pockets on ebay, so I will probably buy one and then visit the Disney shop and buy loads of stickers,k badges etc to put on it. I might just manage to sew our names on the pockets. but the main one for me is my daughter Gaby. This cruise is all about her enjoying herself.
So forgive me if my Fish Extender is the most lame thing you've all ever seen:rolleyes:

it doesnt matter what your FE is like, its the joining in that counts! our first cruise, i used a tote bag, the second cruise (and this one) i've got a FE which was made for us by one of our cruise mates from last year's cruise.
i am racking my brain as to what to make for our gifts though, i'm not used to doing everything so last minute!

I second that. The whole fish extender idea is for fun. Some FE gift ideas:
Zip lock bag with assorted chocolates or candy with an address label of who sent them.
Candy bars with label glued on the front with cruise info/names.
Anything Disney; pencils, pens, stickers, temporoary tatoos, etc..
Dollar store eraser boards accented with trip info/names (with magnet back) to go on doors for messages.
Magnets of DCL, countries we are visiting, Disney characters, etc.. Print on magnet paper 4,8,12 per page and cut (less magnet sheets, less to spend).
Kids stuff with Disney anything.

Just some thoughts. Don't worry, be happy, have fun.

Yep what he says.

i'm not sure if this info is on this thread or not, but i emailed disney to ask what shows are on what dates and what nights are formal/semi formal etc. they didnt tell me what shows are on what nights, but i did get this info:

7-Night Repositioning Cruise from Barcelona to Dover
*Nights 1, 3, 4, 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress
*Night 7: themed night
*Nights 6: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.

Quick question. Do you just exchange gifts once on the cruise. Meaning you find a night mid cruise and deposit the gifts in the FE's? Also, do you tag your name to them or is it like a secret santa style?

Sorry i'm a little confused, is night 7 themed or cruise casual and i'm asuming that the other is actuall day 5 do you know which way round it is? i was told day 5 is when they plan on having the pirates fireworks so i assume that this is the themed night but can you confirm if thats the case?

i copied and pasted it directly from the email i got (actually didnt notice that there wasnt a night 5!) so i'm guessing the person typing it must have just made a mistake. i'm guessing that the pirate night probably is on day 5, as you have to put your luggage out on the last night and if pirates were the last night, there'd be a lot of pirate-y looking people disembarking in dover! imagine the looks on people in dover's face when the disney magic docks and 2000 pirates are getting off :rotfl:

Good Afternoon everyone.

Lynn, I feel you are right about the Malamutes, hence my reluctance (I am actually a dog trainer/behviourist for my sins), so know a little bit about the breed, although they are not as common over here. I am going to have to get you to talk to OH about the pitfalls, so he doesn't just think it is me being a killjoy!

Kate

Yes, we can discuss the merits of malamutes! That is something we are always happy to talk about!

Some folks attach a name, some do not. We generally use a day at sea to distribute gifts, but it should be whatever is convenient. Some folks just pass things out as they pass folks they know are with DIS.

Just a few weeks away! We will be out of here in 2 weeks - lots of work to do before then!

Have a great week all!

My DD10 is wondering if there are any other girls or boys near her age on the cruise. She likes to email and say hi before meeting everyone so she has a friend. Any takers?

i've just bought all the stuff for my FE gift!! can someone confirm the current amount of rooms participating? i've bought enough for 20, i think we're up to 15 arent we?

I went ahead & bought for 20 as well. :)

Hi everyone:wave2:

Just wanted to share my general excitement :)
I can't believe how quickly this holiday is coming round, it's brilliant! I am SOOO ready for it!

I bought the material for my FE this week and am planning on making it this week, you need to promise however not to laugh at it when you deliver gifts-remember it's my first time!

I have new holiday clothes sorted for the kids, but not for me yet...
The weather here is rubbish, can't wait for some sunshine. It's James 3rd Birthday on saturday and we've hired a bouncy castle for the garden so i'm keeping everything crossed for good weather!

Need to get a handle on my gifts for the FE. I'm a little suprised at the number of kids on this, is this normal for a med cruise that there is so few?

Oh, was wondering-what does everyone wear for Pirate Night?

Anyway, lots of work to do...have a good week everyone.

Susan :)

As Lynn said, we give the FE gifts out sometime during the cruise. A day at sea usually has some time to do the FE gifts. Sometimes we do it the first day if we board early. We also tag our gift with our name. We like to see who gives us FE stuff. No set rules. Alex
