Hi there!

I'm Sammie, and my parents and this will be our first cruise! We're celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary and my upcoming college graduation. I saw this thread and just had to post since I'm bursting with excitement.

I'll probably be bombarding the cruise forum with questions and my mom will probably make her own name as well. Are there any "young" adults going? I'm 22 and although I love my parents very much, I'm looking to find some friends to hang out with on the cruise as well.

So, in a nutshell, that's why I'm here and I can't wait to see everyone in June

Hello to my fellow cruisers!! So even though I am a cast member, this is my first DISNEY cruise and needless to say I am STOKED! 1 month away for us!! Just had a few questions.....what is the "FE" you all keep speaking of?

Also, I know this forum is mostly parents but I'm 21 and looking for younger adults around my age to meet on the ship to have people my age to hangout with as everyone in my family is much older or younger.so if any of you have kids my age let them know I'm looking for others! This is our first Disney cruise but in a nut shell an FE is when the people in the exchange buy little items and place them in each other's fish extenders. It is great fun to come back and check the items you have received.
Everyone in your group who wants to do this will hang out their fish extender on the big fish outside their cabin and then everyone will put one gift in the extender sometime during the cruise.
You can give one gift per cabin or put something different for the kids and then something for the adults.
Some gift ideas: stickers, pencils, drink coasters, post card, candy, magnets, something from your home town, (little trinkets). Adult gift idea recipe cards with your favorite recipes. They can be home made too!

An FE is a basically a pocket type organizer in which each member of your party has a pocket, the FE hangs over the fish outside your cabin.

Wow!!! 4 weeks until all the Magic-- DH, DD-11 and DS-9 sailing out of NYC on June 30th. I am getting a late start on the threads this cruise. Looking forward to family time. Lots of great information. Traveling by train into Penn Station on June 30 by 9 am. Anyone know if we can store luggage to stop in Times Station? Only few blocks away- DD- 12th birthday wanted to stop a M&M Store before sailing. So close and should have plenty of time before boarding.

there are busses that will take us back to the port as well, I called and was told the last bus will leave each park at 11pm to head back to the ship as the ship sails out at 11:59pm.

I found this info. You night need to show an Amtrak ticket - not sure if that is how you are travelling.


Pennsylvania Station does store luggage, but the facility can be hard to find. Do ask a uniformed Amtrak employee for assistance at the station if you have difficulty finding it. Generally, you need to be able to present a train ticket to use this service, but not always. Costs are moderate. This option is most useful if you intend to travel via Amtrak, or if you will take NJ Transit/AirTrain to Newark Airport. Perhaps less stressful and more convenient would be Schwartz Travel at 357 West 36th Street, which offers luggage storage, luggage forwarding, small lockers, a coat check and a modest self-storage facility. They charge $6 to $10 per bag per 24 hour period and are open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.

Getting very excited now! 9 days left of school and one trip to San Francisco to make a professional presentation and it will be cruise time!

Hi all...
Getting SO excited for the cruise in two weeks! I had read somewhere on DIS that tipping wasn't allowed in the kids clubs and the nursery. I was wondering if anyone knew how true this was??? Also, if we can tip (which I hope we can!) what is acceptable to tip for Flounders? I'm not sure if there is a standard rate that people follow.

Thanks so much! I just want to make sure that we show those who care for DD while we are on the ship realize how much we appreciate them!

When we cruised on NCL a couple of years ago we gave a tip to people in the kids club. I'm guessing they just split everything but I never even checked whether or not tipping was allowed but they graciously accepted it.

Can't believe we are just a couple of weeks away, seems like we have been waiting forever for this cruise.

Has anyone ever parked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal? My husband is worried that our large pickup truck may not fit - just wondering about height restrictions and small parking spots.

For those of you who might not have gotten the info on FB, many of us are having an informal meet on the ship on Saturday, before sail-away. Here is the info:

3:00 pm on the Deck 7 Aft sun deck (that's the back of the ship)

We know everyone has lots of plans, so a lot of us thought this would be a good time to meet! No pressure, but hope to see you there. This is also a good time for our kids to meet each other
