I have one of the corner rooms and am worried that I will be looking at the deck, not the ocean, through a porthole and then another piece of glass(2 windows that will be covered in salt).
Why did you decide against the corner room?
Mainly because we wanted to try out some other rooms, have a preference for aft (at least on the existing ships - not sure if that will hold true for the Dream), and because we're not sure we're going to like the view.
We opted for the front corner room when we booked on opening day since we were intrigued by the size of the corner rooms, and the possibility that they may have had two windows (some of the early feedback from
DCL.) (The aft corner rooms were all originally marked as accessible so we didn't try to book any of them.) We figured we'd book the room while it was available, and possibly try to change if the early reports weren't good.
As we saw the ship being built, we figured out that they would only have 1 window facing forward, and while slightly disappointed, we were still curious. Then we saw the additional covering being placed on top of the window. While it looked like a thin film type covering, and hopefully is stuck onto or close to the glass, I'm curious about what the view from the window will be.
Between our general preference for aft (again, not sure that preference will carry onto the Dream/Fantasy, and our concerns about whether we'll like the room, we opted for a non-connecting 8C room on Deck 7 aft when we booked the Fantasy. We currently have the same 8C room booked for the 3 Fantasy cruises we have reserved at the moment (2 in august in addition to this one)
